Three monks in Nan are implicated for having sex with under-aged youths

A deputy abbot of a temple in Nan’s Muang district has been charged with child molestation and having sex with under-aged youths by police.

In the meantime, two monks, including a temple abbot, are under investigation by police in Wiang Sa and Phu Piang districts after they were accused of buying sex services from boys in Nan province.

The three monks’ alleged malpractice for having sex with under-aged youths was posted in the social media, prompting the provincial governor to order an immediate probe which eventually proved that the allegation was founded.

I've been out all day so couldn't believe when I saw this had been posted for five hours, and no one said a word. If it was a farang in Pattaya or Phuket, this post would have a hundred comments already. We all know the cops, politicians, military junta are corrupt, but the monks are supposed to be the very pillars on which Thai society stands. If they are out there buggering the kids along with everyone else, why doesn't anyone have something to say about it? This is really sick. I swear I weep for this country sometimes, and for some of us who have been here a while and become immune to it.

Fake everything here so why Monks so different get use to it TIT

Why should we get used to it? That's nonsensical.

Because we're all invited to help save the world, but not here?

I am starting to wonder if the like for the same sex is a merit to get to some specific positions in this country.

Is it just me, or is the quality of Monks in Thailand going down hill?

Seems like every day we are reading of some monk gone bad, or doing drugs, involved

with money, cars, women, girls, and boys. Disgusting!

Geezer

Geezer

The "naked men in orange robes"  definitely appear to be getting down and dirty more frequently, hitting below the belt you might say.

I am a really bad guy I decided just recently to become a good guy. But reading this i have just changed my mind  If it is good enough for the Monks it good enough for me I will stay a bad guy Geezer i dont know about your wife but my wife use to go out in the front of house and bring food out and the Monks would go by and take the food and bless them

That has all stopped since she has been reading this and what they get up to As far as she is concerned they can all starve:passifier:

I know what you are saying Happyman , very sad and I mutter under my breath when I see them in my soi.  If you look at any old film in B&W and it features RC priests the worst comes to mind , pity for the good ones,  priests and monks but only bad stuff makes the news when it comes to religion and politics.

I had to chuckle at the photo accompanying the headline. Thought those 3 monks sure look like BiB. :coffee1:

A bit sad, to be sure.
As usual the bad guys get the press while many thousands are doing the monk thing honestly and sincerely, and being deprived of what?, ten baht a day worth of rice?

Men that are naked bar orange robes.

What could be wrong about them.

What stuffed the Catholic Priests was they are not allowed to get married That law was only brought in by some Pope who was fighting some wars It has nothing to do with religion at all Just this pope wanted this brought it in  I am not saying that will fix the problem but ask you "Could you go without sex all your life"? I know i could not Does that make me a bad person or change my beliefs NO That law prevents them from living life as a normal human being Its all part of life Many many good priests i use to know left the priesthood because they could not marry

I think it has got to do more with here faith in Monks is a bit shattered

What’s with men of the cloth and young boys, do they bring them closer to spiritual heaven

Religion and “illegal” sex seem to go hand in hand with any religion

Buggering boys and girls unchallenged by others in Authority .That means.......?

Why their picture was not posted as they do with foreign molesters?

Don't be too concerned! Calm down as all three will be sent to Inactive Duty.

Sorry to hear that. I seldom pass someone begging for money and always give something to the blind singing and playing music for alms. I do this for MY heart to feel good not for them. I never see monks on my Soi with their food pots, maybe I am too late waking up, but in my opinion one persons error should not be paid for by another.

In which country are..

... all the police honest?

... all the religious leaders pure?

... all the teachers qualified?

... all the doctors knowledgeable?

... all the cooks skilled?

Or should I ask, 'on which planet?'

If there are 10,000 of them, and 4-5 are bad, does this mean all of them are bad?

Great, but where do they get the money?

The boys got paid by the monks.

The monks got the money from donations , or maybe some of their own.

When I saw them buy porn dvd's at the market in Bangkok (Chinatown) , there was clearly no lack of money.

The saddest part is that with the degradation of Buddhism this country will have no moral compass and I can only see things going from bad to worse
