The Hat Nopparat Thara and Phi Phi Islands National Park has prohibited tourists from taking selfies on the Khao Ngon Nak mountain top , a vintage point for taking a 360 degree view of natural beauty, for safety reasons.

Park officials said tourists taking selfies at the spot risk falling down the mountain.

A wooden barricade and a sign have been erected to warn tourists not to slip out of the restricted area. Park officials are also deployed to keep tourists under watch.

what can one expect to happen?

- when there is but a bamboo twig stick frame twined together,

to bar you from oblivion

I won't get funny or coy on the rickety bamboo gate, but rather point out on the lobotomized brains of the iPhone selfie gobblins, all over the world...

.... hmmm more planning... ya think...lavar it.

Why not just ban all PEOPLE from these sites?

Besides, if they are stupid enough to fall off the mountain taking selfies then they are too stupid to breed. We're all better off as a result.

Morons killing themselves taking selfies for the end of vanity on social media only have themselves to blame...modern natural selection, that's all. Leave them to it.

  • 2 weeks later...

So is it OK for someone else to take a photo of you.....back a bit, back a bit ,,oh dear.

Why not just ban all PEOPLE from these sites?

Darwin doing good work so far..

The power of Baht impels me..

So how do you enforce this rule, they sure come up with a lot of odd rules in Thailand.

Did someone fall or is this a rare display of foresight?  Why now though?

If you're going to put up a silly bamboo fence, then you might as well put up a real one.

Well they would get some great selfies as they falling half way down the hill,,  if the phone survives even if they don't.

OMG everyone will want to try it,  good idea to ban them for the sake of protecting the stupid.....

Farang gets fined for selfie next to a Thai family littering and screaming.
