Dummy questions re TrueVision

Featured Replies

Hello,

Due to technical issues with our current ISP it seems that those in our Condominium not yet with True have to make the move to TrueVision. Oh joy!

When looking at the broadband packages it says the package I might go for comes with one of their TV packages (“for free”). Not knowing anything about True, may I assume I will get a TV box with a smart card reader and that every box / customer gets a smartcard? Are these cards married to a specific/individual box or could I take my card with for example the Platinum package to a friend here in the condominium, insert the card into his True box and watch whatever program in his flat? Or wouldnt my card work in his TV box?

Cheers!

As far as I'm aware the cards are matched to individual boxes so you probably won't be able to do what you suggest.

The box and card are married....the card will not work in another box.

And I confirm that because when I was with TrueVisions for many years (but said goodbye about 6 months ago) I had 4 boxes in my house....had a old TrueVisions cable plan which cost me about Bt2200 total (including VAT)/month....basically boxes 3 & 4 from free of any monthly charges.   But back to my story:  If you switched cards in the boxes you would get an error message on the screen saying something along the lines of wrong card and you would lose TV signal after about 30 seconds.
