Wanting to stream video from desk top computer.

I am not a computer or IT expert by any means and I would like to take the first step to getting rid of my true visions satellite dish and gold package, but that will come later. I presently have an older (almost 6 years) but fully operational HP desk top computer running Windows 10 (64bit, 8GIG RAM). I have a TOT VDSL wired connection with a D-Link dual band modem which is Wi-Fi operational. On a speed test I have a 42.5 Mb download speed and 10.8 Mb upload. 15 feet away I have a wall mounted 42” Panasonic VIERA model TH-L42U30T LCD TV. It has three HDMI inputs and I am presently using two so there is one free. I want to purchase a user friendly Wi-Fi streaming media video TV box to utilize the third HDMI port. I am looking for recommendations on what to buy that can be installed without too much problem, and support would be nice also (Bangkok). It should have a remote because I do not have a smart phone to use as one. I like to watch American sports and news also if there are systems more aligned for this type of usage. Also tips and recommendations on virtual private networks (VPN) would be appreciated also. Thanks in advance. I had previously posted this thread in the IT and Comp. Forum before editing and updating this one, not knowing about this forum group.

Any of the TV boxes are DIY, it connects your tv to the internet and you find the content, legal or illegal. Unless you subscribe to an IPTV provider there isnt any support etc. Its an operating system, usually android or windows so no real user friendly options.

Whatever content you can currently find on your PC will be the content you can find with a TV box.

As Thaitoknow mentions , some of the apps and people use Kodi etc.

A VPN recommendations may be dependent on why you need a VPN, access to geolocked content, thai blocked content ?.

My concern with VPN is that I have read that a large part of USA material does not allow content to be aired out of the country. I would like to have a larger percentage to pick from if using a VPN IP address from the states is worth the cost.

Others may be able to recommend a specific VPN for US content. The Opera Browser with built in VPN is great for appearing to be in US for browser content.

Buy a android box. Make sure its a one of the latest spec. Dual wifi is useful also.

Install apps like Mobdro, Livetvnet, Terranium or Showbox and enjoy.

No Limits is the way to go, it's a bottomless pit of free movies, TV shows etc.

I responded to your original post in November. If you want to view geographically restricted content from other countries, an android box will not provide that service only by itself. First, you need to be able to hide your ISP address from originating web-host. If you send me a PM, I will provide you with all the information you need.
