Phayao wants an international airport

Phayao wants an international airport

By The Nation

Authorities and residents of Phayao’s Mueang district have earmarked 2,500 rai for use as an international airport.

Dr Praphan Thianwiharn, mayor of Tambon Maeka, said an airport in the northern province could also serve Chiang Rai, Nan and Phrae.

Praphan on Thursday morning showed reporters the 2,500 rai that the municipality, citizens and private firms had assembled for construction of an international airport.

He said the province’s geography made it suitable for an airport because there were no obstructions to aircraft take-offs and landings.

Praphan said the governor and the public and private sectors would coordinate efforts to push for an airport to be built.

London, Paris, New York, Phayao............yeah, that works. It's a well known international destination.

Praphan on Thursday morning showed reporters the 2,500 rai that the municipality, citizens and private firms had assembled for construction of an international airport.

Before rushing into this pipe dream, would it not be pertinent to inform the international community that Phayao actually exists, and if I was to fly from Toronto to Phayao, what can I expect?

Ever hear of Google?
It's a little thing that lets people find out about everything.
I am sure millions of people in the world never heard of Nyingchi but they still have an airport there [emoji6]

I think you're mixing up the name of places that begin with P.

Pattaya as prostitutes, Phayao has...actually I'm not sure what Phayao has except a great big weed infested lake and some mountains nearby :)

Cool. I googled Phayao and I cant wait to get there. Just as soon as they build an international airport.

Is Phayao even big enough for any kind of airport?

Please, please, build an airport in Phayao, and bring there all the chinese flights now landing in Chiang Mai.
