Couple nabbed in Pathum Thani with drugs, guns

A couple have been arrested in Pathum Thani with 401,800 methamphetamine pills, 22 kilograms of crystal meth and three rifles, police said on Wednesday.

 

The arrest was announced at a press conference at the Metropolitan Police Bureau by Deputy Police Commissioner General Pol General Chalermkiart Sriworkhan and other senior police officers.

 

Apart from the drugs, police also seized an M16 assault rifle, an AK47 assault rifle and an M1 Carbine rifle, Chalermkiart said.

 

The two suspects were identified as Thai Chonnareethin, 36, and Wilairat Thanachotewibul, 41.

 

They were arrested at their rented room in an apartment building in Tambon Kukot in Lamlukka district on Tuesday.

 

Police made the arrest after the suspects in an earlier case implicated them, saying they received drugs from the couple’s apartment for reselling.

 

The couple said they were hired by two unidentified bosses to smuggle the drugs from the Thai-Lao border in Nong Khai and to keep the drugs at their rented apartment. They claimed they were paid Bt80,000 each and said they had smuggled drugs nine times since September last year.

Have to say, well done to the authorities for this, 22kg of crystal and 400,000 methamphetamine pills seems a significant haul.

 

What the article doesn't say is if this stash is the combined amount of the nine drug runs these two have done over the last 5 months or if this is the product of just one run? Answer to that would definitely change the thought process to what is significant and what is relatively insignificant to the overall picture of the problems being faced by the authorities and society as a whole.

On a different note to the OP, i only really noticed the eye candy to the right of the photo shoot because of the expensive looking watch on her wrist. I think I'm being influenced by other government officials in the news rather for my attraction to good looking girls.
