Recommended Thai BBQs (Moogata)

Featured Replies

A couple of bbqs have been mentioned on another thread but I thought it would be good to have a thread wherevmembers can recommend these establishments.

Useful to have location and photos if possible amongst other details.

I am particularly interested in any decent ones near Nong Hoy or Promenada, ??

Not terribly far from Promenada on highway 11 directly across from Thai Watsadu building supply there is a small plaza with a very good mookhata, called I believe, Dung Phu, excuse my spelling. My wife and I were there last night 179 baht each plus one large Leo 480 baht. Not sure what time they open but there were quite a few people at 19:00 when we got there.

Directly opposite Kad Farang, opens 5pm filled up with Thai's and Chinese by 6pm. Around 199 baht a head, a good selection of reasonable quality food, 1.5 hours max I believe.

ScottieJohn (see below as you deleted the relevant comments I was responding to) just asking for suggestions that's all.    There are some very helpful people on here and being a family with three small boys we dont have a great deal of time to explore.

You can always ignore the threads, no harm done ?

I see the "best burgers/fish & chips/pizza/steaks/etc thread" (even though the earlier similar thread opened very recently was shut earlier today) has re-opened in this guise!

Why resurrect these dead and pointless subjects?

Why do people who live here in CM not go out and about and find out for themselves what they like to eat and where, and with their own like minded friends.  Most of you seem to dislike what the other person posts their likes to be so why post about it unless it is just to "egg them on" and create a problem?

When I find one of the many great places to go and eat in in CM, either alone or with family and friends, the last thing I would even think of doing is to advertise here because some of the people on these topics would turn up and spoil it.

Why not just go out and enjoy yourselves in CM (off keyboard) and let the tourists follow trip(up)advisor, or whatever it is called.

reminds me, I must start off another best burger thread, thanks for the reminder ?

Moo Kata near Payap university

Not on the size or scale of Sokontha, neither is the selection as vast.

Bonus, not on the chinese coach circuit.

Whereabouts exactly Paul. Not bring crowded with the huge buses of people is definitely appealing

Sounds good I'm not familiar with the location and Google wasn't able to help, are you? ?

I estimate 250 meters south of the highway 121 overpass on highway 11. There is a huge Thai Watsadu sign directly across the highway. The plaza is home to 8 or 10 businesses but they are all closed in the evening so parking is available. If you are travelling south on highway 11 there is a traffic light just past Thai Watsadu where you can make a U-turn. It isn't a large restaurant but there are also tables outside.
