Popular Post poohy Posted February 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 23, 2018 Not sure about this idea of "highly trained soldiers" soldiers wandering around willy nilly telling people how and what to think? Its only going to cause more confusion plus they will probably get lost if they go too far in their little tank 2 3
Popular Post Eric Loh Posted February 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 23, 2018 The junta chairman said he expects the initiative to reach up to 66 million people – just about the entire Thai population. Even the babies are not spared and will have to join the big cultural revolution called Thai-niyom. 6

It is free money for as long as it lasts or until the well runs dry as a result of numerous forms of embezzlement by politicians, civil servants, the military and assorted levels of district management. The 300 million will all be gone before you know it and the farmers will be left scratching their heads wondering what all that was about. 5 1

Popular Post JonnyF Posted February 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 23, 2018 A colossal amount of money for soldiers to teach the "electorate" about the government’s social principles? Sounds a bit like campaigning to me. It also raises the obvious question. What principles? 5
Dave67 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 "Paochinda said soldiers are now being deployed to instruct residents about the initiative, and there is no time frame how long the program will run" Instruct ?. 1
Dave67 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Has anyone living in Thailand heard anything from family or locals about Thai Niyom? No one here has heard anything about it 2

I'd imagine Mercedes Benz are delighted with this scheme. They are ramping up production on the white/black E series as we speak. Lots of deposits around the corner. Cash of course.

Popular Post Eligius Posted February 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted February 23, 2018 The 'Government' says a million Thais have joined this Thai-niyom scheme on the very first day. Well, they can claim anything, can't they? Like the 63% who allegedly voted for the 'Constitution'. The 'Government' could say already 57 million Thais have signed up to Thai-niyom. Who can forcefully contradict them? Where is the documentary proof? Who would ferret it out? Thai journalists won't (nor will they ask for it): they are more than happy to dress up as little children (remember that one?) and let butch, macho Prayuth pat their heads and fondle their ears (male ears, I might add ...!). 3
