balo
I find this disgusting , and I took this picture just to show what's going on next to the entrance of Royal Garden Plaza on beach road. This is a new stand and the girl selling all this fake Nazi stuff is happy to give tourists a good deal. So I was curious , who buy all this nazi stuff? Well , after observing for a while , the girl was approached by eastern europeans, younger guys. Most other people just went by and shook their heads. Jingthing
Yes, I started a thread about the same type of thing recently. I never hung around long enough to see who buys that garbage. Presumably, they are selling some of it or they wouldn't stay in business. Edited February 23, 2018 by Jingthing

I doubt there is any expectation that such an operation on a Thai street is selling actual historical items, even if they are saying they are. Probably made in China. thaifan01
Should be pretty easy to get those items/stalls removed I guess... As it hurts Pattayas reputation and so on.... 1

That did eventually end. But not sure if that was about enforcement or that very few people buy DVD videos of anything anymore!

"lest we forget." (WARNING! One very graphic image.) Perhaps someone could show the vendor some photographic evidence? She wouldn't care of course. But maybe there are games people could play at that booth to nudge her a little bit. Maybe haggle with her for an hour over a Hitler photo and then walk away. stanleycoin
They will sell anything, even there grandmother for a profit in Thailand. They care not, most won't even know what a Nazi swastika was about, as Thailand was and still is, the center of the known universe for them. Frog and coconut shell syndrome. Unacceptable, and all about education, but can I make just a minute observation? Swastika is Hindu and the word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svastika, which means “good fortune” or “well-being." Not Buddhist as you describe.

digbeth
It's not illegal to have Buddha image in 'inappropriate' place in western country but Thailand makes a big fuss of it and get things done anyway If enough people complain to Royal Garden's management they'll probably remove it, but best get embassies involved
