Yards vs Meters

Featured Replies

Being a Yank, where distances are in yards, what's the deal in Thailand? Meters or yards? Probably the former, but when I played here in the 1970's, it was yards. Thanks.

Only the most technologically superior nations refuse to use the metric system That is Burma, Liberia and the USA. So if you are not in one of those countries its going to be metric.

I think every course I have played around Pattaya and Hua Hin (within an hours drive), and a couple around Bangkok, has been in yards.

I vaguely remember one course only somewhere being in meters.

Have played many courses in Thailand and have never found one that uses metric measurements.

So if you are metric then just subtract 10% from our yards to get what you are used to. eg 100 yards is near enough 90 meters

Personally, I like many others can't judge my shot to within 10% very often so makes little difference ....
