Good grief.  Couldn't you have made it a bit harder to read and understand?

What you plan will make no measureable difference whatsoever to your fuel consumption and if you change all or part of the colour of a vehicle, in theory, you need to advise the LTD.

A few years ago I owned a company that had a  fleet of pickups. I originally painted the pickups in to the company colours. The last few years that I ran the company I started using the the plastic wrap to change to the company colour.

Q_1_1. I’ve been out off the game for a while so I would not recommend any company at this point. I would stick with 3M. Google “Bangkok car wrap” and you will find plenty of suppliers.

Q_1_2. I cannot say how much for the roof only but the full wrap was 15 - 20,000 Baht.

Q_2_. There was a bit of a debate amongst the staff if it was necessary to inform the DLT that we had changed the colour (because technically we hadn’t).  In the end I told them to get book changed to show the new colour just to prevent hassles with the police.

A couple of of other points to consider.

Even if you just do the roof, in my opinion you will still need to add the extra colour to the vehicles book.

If if you do the full wrap, and if you have an accident, the insurance company will repair the vehicle and respray the panel with the original colour, but the will not replace the wrap.  So you will have to return the vehicle to the wrap shop to have the panel redone.

The colour our of the wrap fads over time. After five years, even the 3M was looking dull.

Very informative helpful answer Barty.

Much appreciated.

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

THB 15,000 -- THB 20,000 for Vehicle Body Wrap on Pickup then.

I wonder ;

What would the cost of full re-spray have cost then ?

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

My pickup has much less area, & is much more basic looking, in the body department.

Thus, I expect the price to be at least a few thousand THB cheaper than for typical pickups on the market since circa 2004.

Again, much thanks, Barty, for great reply.

You can get a "cheap" paint job for about 20,000 Baht.

The paint jobs that I got done on my fleet vehicles were between 30 and 50,000 Baht. This was using high quality paint and skilled workers that did really good work.

I went with the vehicle wraps because they were cheaper and much faster. A wrap takes a day and they would come to our workshop. A paint job could take over a month to get done.
