Tourists flee in terror as jet ski operator shoots rival dead on Chaweng beach

Tourists on Chaweng beach fled in terror as a dispute between two Thai men ended in a shoot-out at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 27th of February 2018.

It is unclear how the dispute started between the son of the owner of Petcherat Marina Bangrak, 26, and a member of the Padma family jet-ski family, 45, however it is known that one man died of gun shot wounds in the altercation.

At the time of going to press the other is in ICU. Two guns were found at the scene, a 357 magnum, the other a 9mm Beretta.

After the shooting that left over 100 tourists on the beach in terror, ambulance crews arrived and gave CPR on the beach.

They were unable to save the life of the 26 year old.

Police sealed off the area and seized both weapons. They are currently investigating the crime.

Here, read this and come back to me with questions, that way you'll know what you're talking about:

For info, for everyone else, tourist numbers have increased year on year but most importantly the average spend per tourist has also increased year on year. And as much as people might not want to believe it, Chinese tourists account for over 25% of all visitors to Thailand AND their daily average spend is also well over the average.

They only have themselves to blame, i.e. previously when they were scamming the tourists out of money with alleged jet ski damage that was already there, with these idiots having the backing of their corrupt cop mates fleecing countless tourists, via the threat of you pay or go to jail, then collect their share.

Well business has been down for a while as the word spread countless times over around the world with those educated, (the majority) of tourists avoiding jet skis like a plague, inevitably it becomes a territorial war to try and cover losses.

Just remember, as quick as they flock, they can take flight elsewhere

I have seen the decline in Phuket from 2006 to current, heaps of bars shutting down, tourist numbers down big time.

The thing is that the face and profile of tourism in Thailand has been constantly changing and that's been true since I first started living here in 2004. I remember when western tourist numbers were first down in Pattaya and all the bar owners were screaming that the place would never be the same again, that was early 2000! Chinese and other Asian countries that make up the majority of the tourist numbers into Thailand don't sit in Pattaya or Phuket bars all day and don't spend their nights chasing bar girls so it's no wonder the average western tourist doesn't see them and thinks the world is coming to an end. Try looking at any one of the (non-bar/non-sex) tourist-related businesses in the North which are packed out daily, not with westerners but with Asians, or try talking to one of the tour operators in the North, that'll give you a better idea of what's happening on the tourist front, it is doing very very well.

any evidence to support this?

And here we are with Prayut worried about Thailand being a sex tourist destination rather than a dangerous destination. There are guns absolutely everywhere in this country with hot headed men with the brains of children holding them.

If non Chinese tourism is down 5% and Asian and Chinese tourism is up 20%, who is saving face, where and how?

Thats wonderful news so perhaps the source of this enlightening information could let everyone know where the tourists have been hiding, where do, if anywhere they actually go and lastly why it it thats Thais involved in the tourist sector, across the board are saying their earnings are considerably down?

Sorry, but it just doesn't stack up and raises the question as to where this information came from because its obvious to the naked eye that numbers are hugely down and have been for quite some time.

It might be obvious to your naked eye but perhaps we are seeing different things. My wife works for a tourist related business in the North and whilst in the past two weeks we have started to enter low season, the preceding six months have been overwhelmingly crazy with more tourists than they could sensibly handle, so much so they're having problems finding staff. BIL runs a tourist van service from his own web sites, drives people and small groups all over Thailand, he's not had a slack day for more months than he can remember. Anectodatal evidence of course but we hear the same stories from other businesses that we know, tourism in the North is in very good shape.

They might not have been illegal. It’s not difficult to get a gun here. Just very expensive.

Hua Hin is packed with tourists. You can't even get on the baht bus because it is loaded like a can of sardines.

Not too many shoot outs. It would be exciting as it is so boring here.

Not if controlled in the correct way.  They are not here, so i make you correct.
