WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Friday ordering the end of a policy, known as "catch and release," in which illegal immigrants are released from detention while awaiting a court hearing on their status.

As part of the memo, Trump asked Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to produce a list of military facilities that could be used to detain illegal immigrants.

I never new the USA was giving 1.3 billion in aid to Mexico to help enforce their southern boarder from Central America illegal crossings.Who's south of the boarder down Mexico way cookie jar is that ending up in!

"Mexico, with support from the United States, has responded to the increasing number of children and families fleeing Central America by expanding its security measures along its southern border as well as its internal enforcement. Part of the Mexican government’s southern border security plan is funded through the Mérida Initiative and as of October 2014, about $1.3 billion dollars in U.S. assistance went to Mexico through this initiative".

No.

Illegal immigration status is a civil matter, not a criminal matter.

The jails aren't big enough. Even in the U.S. which is developing to be the world hub of prisons.
