They should advise on the best rides for LOS and the LOSS of Ford backup in the country...
Is that the loss of service I have never, as a Ford owner, encountered in Thailand?

That is my point....In BKK there will be a dealer for any ride that can deal with stuff, but LOS is a big country with franchises that may not have the same expertise or customer satisfaction credentials.....

The bad ones seem to be primarily in Phuket and Pattaya. Perhaps they're fed up with having to deal with western human detriatous?

Udon and Chiang Mai have been the same as what I would expect from a UK dealer, only a fraction of the cost.

Fahr fort mit Ford, und komm zurueck mit der Bahn.

Have a ride with a Ford and come back by train. Old German saying, Confucious.

They only make one car here at the moment, the Fiesta. The Focus is made in Vietnam.

Ford has announced that in the US they will be gradually phasing out saloon cars until only the Focus Active and Mustang are available. I would think the rest of the world will be unaffected, especially as the Fiesta and Focus are their biggest sellers in most markets.

Ford are ending all car production in Thailand and concentrating on pickups and SUV's. They are following the same strategy as Chevrolet. It's a shame as the Focus is a good car, unfortunately its image was irreparably damaged by the gearbox issue with the previous model. My wife still owns that car and most of the time its a cracking car with spirited performance (for Thailand) and fantastic handling.

I was reading that in the USA there is a big swing towards folk buying SUV's instead of their usual saloon's. One of the reasons they are making them more user friendly and appealing. I see even the cops use a lot of SUV's..

Oh those Cops. I tink they should be more diplomatic and set an example. They radar a Vette doing 40 in a 30 zone then chase it at up to 100 in their tippy tumble and tell the victim that 10 mph over could wipe out Texas.:stoner:

That has been known for nearly two years to my knowledge ... it was kept fairly quite though guess that was so that they can sell their stock... daughter has an Ecoboost fiesta ... hope they keep a stock of spares although in three years use no problems except a water pump change. Fingers crossed!!

Not realy, thats why folks shy from Ford. They know a Toyo and Honda is going to last, and the Service Dept care.

Agree somewhat ... MrsJ has a Civic RS and has now been serviced twice and yes no problems. For the Everest we have used Ford Chaengwattana (V.P.K.) for three services and have found them not at all bad and same for the Fiesta. However I do read of nightmare Ford Garages such as the one in Phuket ....

Fords along with BMW, and your OK in BKK area, but up country Ford and BM can be sketchy. Easy to upset folks here. I get negatives about BM, about not being worth the extra over a new Top Civic i agree , they right imo.!

Despite my experience that Ford in Udon and Chiang Mai have been fine. You obviously know best because of your own experience of Ford ownership in Thailand.
