Fake police abduction and extortion gang busted in Bangkok

 

 

Hua Mark, Bangkok, police have announced the arrest of four members of a gang who were impersonating police and conning victims in an abduction and extortion racket.

 

Those arrested were Kritsada Kanhawong, Samruay Praphanmongkhon, Kattaphon Upornmaiyamat and a 17 year old woman named only as "Um".

 

The key to the gang was Miss Um who lured victims with the promise of sex using the Bee Talk app.

 

Once she had got a victim the others moved in claiming to be drugs police and saying they were going to do a search.

 

The latest victim was picked up and held in a pick-up then taken to a resort in Minburi where he was beaten.

 

Then his relatives were contacted and 35,000 baht was extorted from them. 

 

But he went to the police and that led to the arrest of the gang.

 

Two more members of the gang remain at large, said TNA quoting Hua Mark police.

Well done the real RTP. Why is it I get the feeling Big Joke has motivated others into getting off their clackers and actually doing something. The fear of embarrassment and loss of face plus the opportunity of photo shots can be great motivators.

I can't tell which ones are fake. They all look rather shifty to me.
