Quick buy your lottery tickets - it's the two headed tortoise!

Villagers in Singburi are convinced that riches are just around the corner after a two headed, two tailed tortoise was born.

 

Locals in Phromburi have been hot-footing it to the convenience store of former kamnan Chettha, 58, who is the owner of the "one in a million" Sulcata Tortoise from Sudan.

 

Sanook reporters went to his shop where they found the as yet unnamed creature that is about four centimeters long and 1.5 centimeters high.

 

The tortoise was one of a batch of 14 that Chettha has for sale but he won't be parting with this one.

 

The locals have been rubbing it and experts in the art of lottery prediction have determined that 168 is the likely winner in the next draw.

 

Chettha is not letting anyone else rub it though - he wants to make sure that it lives as long as possible as he called it his one in a million tortoise.

 

Sulcata are some of the biggest land based tortoises and often grow well over 70 centimeters and can weigh in at around 50 kilos when fully grown.

 

Thaivisa notes that two headed animals are often seen as an omen in Thailand with many believing that they can divine lottery numbers from them. A recent case was a two headed calf that died that is now kept in a glass case outside a temple.

 

Lottery numbers can also be read from the bark of sacred trees among many other items.
