Trooping the Colour with a Turban ?

How can an event of national pride and custom be permitted to allow a turban to be worn instead of the bearskin . Always thought that the traditional uniform was sacrosanct  .

Sign of the time I suppose . What will/has become of merry old UK ?

The guy with a turban was a Sikh, who well deserve to be allowed to keep their traditional garb.

If I write any more I'll be accused of Islamophobia.

And at the first chemical or biological attack he will be dead, because of the beard and turban, no seal on his respirator. So while on parade might be ok, on the battlefield he will just be dead wood to the rest of his unit.

Is this likely at The Trooping of the Colour?

Is that why all soldiers take time out from large battles every day, just to have a shave.......OK everyone stop, gillettes out, foamy at the ready, shave. Okay, now continue fighting.

Actually, yes, that is why you need to be clean shaven, to form a good seal on your respirator.

Doesn't appear to be an issue for Taliban, Al Quaeda, ISIS, etc, fighters, though!

Nonsense! Soldiers are required to shave for reasons of discipline, cleanliness and appearance, soldiers who have been fighting in the field for three days and have grown stubble face the same risks as the sikh does on day one.

2 reasons, we don't use chemical attacks against them, and they don't use chemical attacks against us.

While I don't disagree with your reasons, mine is also valid.
