Immediately following my read of ur reply I got up to fully examine the flame part, & clean that which I find needs it. Doing so necessitated I dismantling it. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Burner Head is NOT detachable by : pulling off nor turning it So,- I unscrewed the whole pedestal burner unit ; 2 screws only >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Whole Pedestal Burner Unit has : hose attached [ And, it free to be swung ] that links from variable control knob with ignition start upon full turn in fully open position to the actual ignition part mounted on pedestal burner unit pipe [ copper material, I think ] that allows the gas to flow to burner head >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I unscrewed the connection between the whole pedestal burner unit & the copper pipe ; 1 screw only My eyesight not being like it used to be has it for me that this copper pipe must have some very tiny hole either : inside the clearance hole which the screw enters for locking down this assembly to the thread tapped into the base of stove or some very tiny hole just beyond that clearance hole I try to find pilot hole with very fine sewing needle ; But, I fail to find any purchase. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I turned the whole pedestal burner unit upside down, & then unscrewed 4 screws ; I discover that Burner Head is composed of 2 pieces ; Top piece has ridges underneath that when resting on its mating part forms channels for the gas to flow out as intended flame when appliance is in use. No jet part of the design at this location anyway And, the vertical part of the whole pedestal burner unit is only a pipe [ some 10mm ; I seem to recall only vaguely ... 8-) ] I scrub with s/s cleaning pad + running water every part I deem that needs cleaning ; But, I do not realy understand nor see which part really requires it. Our Man in the Tropics Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I left the stove to dry. I just now inserted gas canister, & ignited the gas ; I get a better flame. And, this is with the variable control knob in fully open position ; But, when I leave the knob in this position,- it springs back every so slightly [ perhaps 5 degrees ] ; Whereupon I get the unsatisfactory flame that prompted this thread. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Sorry for this post with its predecessor being so long ; But, I reckon that it cannot be any less because I hope as with all my other threads to accurately serve the facts to especially readers that are also encountering similar problem.
Crossy Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 It's almost certainly a blocked jet. If you post some photos of the burner parts we can suggest where the jet is located. There will be an air inlet somewhere, the jet should be close to that.

Hi Crossy, Upon reading ur post, I spent considerable time on internet trying to find photo of this model. Unfortunately, to no avail. I will return to the shop where I bought it about a year or so ago, & enquire as to their knowledge about thIs very model. e.g. Location of Jet I do not know how to do photo, & transfer it from my mobile to computer, & upload to the thread. Perhaps I may get some help over next few days about the photo & transfer parts. Regards, Our Man in the Tropics
sometimewoodworker Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 One point, even the finest sewing needle is probably too big and certainly the wrong shape to clear either the main or pilot jets, it will damage them DAMHIKT. Something like this is what you need 1
Our Man in the Tropics Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) Update ; Here is the closest I could find as to what my Stainless Steel Cooker looks like ; Ref. https://www.openchinacart.com/supermall/16475178632 Regrettably, I am not set up with being able to take photo of the actual one that is the subject of this thread, & then save it, & send it as attachment ; I have not got on top of my smart phone yet. Another regrettable is that the above Photos do not show the Burner Unit other than the top plate of Copper [ ? ] or Brass [ ? ]. But, it does seem to be very similar to mine in that the orifices for the flame appear to be on side ONLY. And, as of yesterday,- I no longer have the Cooker ; I exchanged it for a standard painted Mild-Steel type. Again, thank u to everyone for ur most helpful replies.
