Dick Cramp has a great point. Unless you have a compelling reason to buy, it's generally safer to rent. Buying condos here is a questionable investment decision. 
 
One thing nobody has mentioned is the crime. I've read the crime in these Bangkok suburbs (Nonthaburi, Pathumthani) can be worse than in Bangkok. 
 
Anyone have any info? 
Lam Luka in Pathum Thani is the gangster capital of Thailand. Navanakhon also in pathum thanj s controled by the Isaan maffia. Pathum is a red shirt stronghol. The most wanted red shirt terrorist Ko Thi is also from Pathum Thani. Pathum Thani is controled by one political red shirt family. Who control all public transport.

Nonthaburi have a very low crime rate

      The completion of the new transit link from Bang Sue/Tha Poon certainly makes the Nontaburi area a more convenient place to live.  Not yet as  over-developed as other areas of Bangkok have become, tho
