Has anyone carried out an 'upgrade' so as to be able to gets MAPS from their android phone displayed onto the synch2 screen or do they know how it may be done ... thanks

Most Folks here are too embarrassed to admit they even own a Ford,so admiring to owning a poverty android phone unlikely.Apple Car Play is the best.

    Actually I have two Fords, I really like the Everest, lovely 'boat like' ride. Yes I have an android phone and it's only a Note4, but it keeps going. Did you mean to say admiring or was your hand/brain somewhat 'slippy'. This apple thing it will connect to Ford Synch2 ... and MM hello again ... trust you to chirp up when Ford are mentioned ...?  ...enjoy
