I am quite good with computers TV's is an other matter. I want a wireless headset for the TV as my GF watches TV while I am doing other stuff and the sound can bother me. Now she is usually watching stuff that comes from my android box (for showing movies / tv series). This android box is connected with a HDMI cable to my TV. That transfers sounds too. Now how can i get a wireless headset connected. The TV has no bluetooth. I have seen headsets that you can connects with jacks to a base station. Only will that work because the sound goes to the TV by HDMI not those other cables.

Below a picture of the headsets im talking about.

Does the Android box not have Bluetooth? Most do.

Assuming it does, try just turning the volume down on the TV and use Bluetooth headphones paired directly with the box. It works on my Android box and on my PC.

Failing that, there are many wireless headphone sets like the one shown that have a base unit that will connect to a headphone socket or RCA sockets, and also some that have optical inputs. Prices vary from a thousand Baht or so to several tens of thousands. Quality varies wildly also.

How much do you want to pay?

I would say not several tens of thousands is out because then buying a new TV with bluetooth would be cheaper. My android box has RCA sockets and also optical imput. I was just thinking it would not work but I might have misunderstood how it works.

Below the android box i have, its a movie player connected to a NAS drive

The headphone in your picture shows one with their own transmitter, probably infra red, and AV jack's that will only fit in your TV.

Get yourself a bluetooth headphone and connect it to your box, which will have bluetooth if it isn't the cheapest of the cheap.

It wasn't a cheap box but seems not to have Bluetooth.  those jacks also fit in my android box.

You can connect your headphones to that box, but in the settings you will have to change audio output.

With bluetooth it does that automatically when you switch on the headphones.

I think i can manage that.. just wanted to be sure.. Your right of course i could switch audio output from going to the tv to going to the headset. I just did not really think it through yet, did not want to buy something that would not work.

Another thing you can consider is check if the box supports usb bluetooth dongle, because with those headphones you picture I assume you need to be in line of sight.

Line of sight is not really a big problem as the TV is next to the box and opposite to the sofa. Its the GF who will use it most of the time. I prefer watching most movies on the computer, she likes the TV better.

For those prices you can buy a new Android TV box with latest Bluetooth built in. We have a year old model and its as simple as turning on/off the headphones to get private sound from the TV.

He's talking about Android box, not Android TV's, and you get a decent one that does everything you need for below 5000 Baht
