Trump warns Iran to never threaten U.S.

(Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iranian President Hassan Rouhani not to threaten the United States again, after Rouhani cautioned Trump about pursuing hostile policies against Tehran.

 

"Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before," Trump said in a Twitter post.

 

Rouhani on Sunday said "war with Iran is the mother of all wars", but did not rule out peace between the two countries.

 

"We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death," Trump tweeted. "Be cautious!" he added.

Korea and the media is falling for it again.  He threatens and hypes the potential for a nuclear war, then he has a ridiculous photo-op summit, accomplishes nothing, and claims that he saved the world from nuclear war.  Anything to get his Russian scandal out of the headlines.

I am sure Iran is a different issue than NK! We have not seen the last of this yet. Iran is quite fed up being bullied for decades, and it will come to an end before than later.

He's shaking hands and doing photo ops with the leader of a country that's really trying to develop nuclear weapons against the U.S.

 

And now he's threatening the leader of a country that, despite its many faults and probable support for terrorism, supposedly is/was honoring its treaty commitments to avoid nuclear weapons.

If the U.S. wants to engage with/take action against Iran for supporting terrorism, then let the U.S. make its case and take action accordingly either alone or with its allies.

 

But that's not why the U.S. under Trump unilaterally pulled out of the Iranian nuclear treaty, which by most accounts Iran is abiding by the terms of. All of the other parties to the nuclear treaty, including U.S. European allies, stayed with the treaty and believe Iran has been complying.

 

Instead, Trump and Co. did it at least in part because of his plain obsession to undo and thwart anything that Obama accomplished during his time as president. And now as a result, Iran, which at least wasn't heading toward being a nuclear threat, may become more of a crisis than it was before, solely because of Trump.

 

That's not improving or helping solve Iran's terrorism issues. That's making them worse.

Iran is definitely not one of the 'good guys', but destabilizing it would be even worse than what happened with Iraq. Iran at least is a counter balance for Saudi Arabia, which is (and has been) a much bigger threat when it comes to supporting terrorism.

First of all, receiving a threat from a five time, draft dodging non patriot like Tiny Don, is not the tiniest bit scary. He is such a lightweight, his words mean nothing. Second, Iran is right. If the US picked a war with Iran, it is something that could last 30 years, cost upwards of $20 trillion US, and bankrupt America, which is a fairly easy thing to do, at this point in it's history, and with it's present financial predicament and debt. Iran is not only alot more powerful than the huckster thinks, they are sitting on alot of cash. Probably more cash than the US has. And with the political ideology, there might be more appetite for a war, than in the US. At this present point in time, the US is having a very hard time taking care of it's own veterans, and the waiting time for psychiatric care for a vet with PTSD, is as long a 9 months. That in itself is an abomination. Can the US afford another war? I think not. He is talking out of his butt, yet again. A fool is a fool. Trump re-defines the very definition of a fool and an uninformed nitwit. His level of incompetency staggers the imagination.

It is. North Korea does not pose a threat to US national security or  national interests in the same way Iran does. Iran has long been linked to the funding of groups who have specifically targeted US nationals and assets. Need I remind you who the  most important backer of Hizbollah is (After the Qataris)? Islamic Jihad is the group which  murdered the 243 US marines & 58  French troops who were peacekeeping during the Lebanese civil war. Islamic Jihad was backed and funded exclusively by Iran.

 

Iran has been  funding terrorist and extremist groups in the region for decades and  is responsible for their being a state within a state in Lebanon.  Assad was able to hang on was because Iranian Republican Guards backed him up.

 

The BS  hyperbole of Iran being bullied  is laughable. You do know that the Iranians have illegally occupied parts of the UAE for some time and have regularly threatened the Sunni Gulf states for decades. The Arabs in the region detest the Iranians and with good reason.

 

Trump is speaking  in terms Iranians understand. Talking in empty hollow statements doesn't work in that culture. They understand action and will push and take advantage if there is any weakness shown. One need only look at the  UK sailors who were captured by Iran. The UK response prior to the capture was laughable. When the Iranians threatened a US warship, they were met with a strong response and quickly backed off.

 

Trump's relationship with Putin  will get the Russians onside in preparation for kicking the Iranians out of Syria. The Russians can keep their naval base but the  Iranian Republican guards are going to have to leave  and stop threatening Jordan and Lebanon. They are one of the reasons why there hasn't  been a resolution of the Israeli issues with the PLA. The Iranians have done their utmost to undermine any resolution.  Pacify Iran and a lot of the region's problems will go away. 

 

And in case you have forgotten, Iran  has murdered thousands of dissidents over the years and some of the more recent cases involving the  deaths of the elderly woman journalist from Canada  and the  wildlife biologist who was an advocate of protecting Iran's wildlife speak volumes about the religious  despots who rule Iran.
