I do know the reasons for the attack. Her crap arsed husband was shamed because she was photographed in public without her veil. Whenever these types of attacks occur, stabbings, running people down, acid attacks, bombings, the names are withheld when it involves Muslims to avoid the backlash and outcry from society. 

As it turns out, I and everyone else on here was right.

No, it has been official police procedure in the UK for as long as I can remember. According to the Authorised Professional Practice guidance produced by the College of Policing, the police should not name those who are arrested or suspected of a crime, unless there is an exceptional circumstance or legitimate policing purpose.

I'm planning to use acid in a hydroponic system to grow strawberries.

Did you seriously think it would consist of 'I hope the boy gets better' posts??  I think this goes without saying.

 

EVERYONE, regardless of viewpoint, is horrified by what happened to this innocent child, but we're also horrified (albeit to a lesser extent) that the uk has allowed in the type of people that would carry out this sort of attack.

 

The father may well have intended it to happen to his wife, rather than his child - but this is only slightly less horrifying!

    People are concerned about these sorts of things happening again in the future.

  Goes without saying that everyone is concerned about the child in question , what kind of people would do attack a child and how can similar occurrences be stopped in the future ?

You may be right that the rest responsible weren't refugees (?) - we're all reliant on newspaper articles at this point.  But it's slightly 'funny' how little info. is forthcoming on this horrendous case - although I gather one of those responsible was a refugee from Afghanistan?

 

But the others responsible, who have been named, clearly aren't 'ordinary' brits. - and were quite happy to throw acid on a child and/or his mother....

You are correct, everyone is horrified by this disgusting attack, though responses differ.

 

My personal (liberal left) view is horror at the obscene nature of this attack on a child, followed by relief that the police have so swiftly arrested suspects.

 

I trust in the police and the courts to provide a fair and open trial, and I hope the accused, if found guilty are given the most severe penalties allowed under the law. 

 

I also firmly believe that if the culprits have received or are in the process of receiving British citizenship or the right to remain in the UK, this should be removed and they should be deported directly from prison to wherever they came from once they have served their time. The deportation should include a black listing to banning them from the UK for life. 

 

I of course hope the victim gets all the help he needs to achieve the fullest possible recovery.

 

So, a liberal left view of support for the police, support for the justice system, support for stripping foreigners convicted of serious crimes of any rights to remain in the UK, support for the deportation of foreign convicts directly from prison and of course support for the victim.

 

 

Excuse me if I don't buy into the rabid frothing at the mouth over immigration, refugees, Muslims, Islam and  the myriad accusations of a 'PC cover-up' or 'news blackouts'. (Especially when this behaviour follows certain members from thread the thread across TVF). 

 

The matter is now exactly where it needs to be, in the hands of the police, the justice systems and for the child victim, the NHS.

There is no requirement for concentrated acids or alkalis being generally available (95% pure)

 

Even floor cleaner is only 10% HCl typically. This will put holes in your clothes but not in you!

 

Do you not use sealed lead acid batteries? I don't think Joe Public needs access to concentrated H2SO4!

 

If you used concentrated HCl on strawberries, I guarantee you won't have many left.

It is surely self evident that an person who throws acid on a child, or conspires with others to throw acid on a child has some very twisted values. 

 

But be very clear, 'these types of people' are the people who are now in police custody. You risk and you know you risk, tarring whole groups of people with the crimes of individual vilely viscous  thugs.
