Hotel bookings for the long weekend coming up in Thailand are down in Hua Hin and Cha Am.

Local hotel owner and tourism adviser Rungrot Sileauangsawat said there would be fewer arrivals at area hotels after fears of flooding in Petchaburi province.

He said people travelling from the Central Region had cancelled and chosen to go elsewhere amid concerns they might not be able to reach their destinations or get back.

He called for reliable information to be provided by the authorities over the threat of flooding, reported Ban Muang.

The long weekend is 11th to 13th encompassing HM the Queen's birthday on Sunday.
