The Doi Suthep Forest Reclamation Network along with its allies will hold a major rally in Chiang Mai on August 26 to demand that buildings in Doi Suthep’s pristine forest be demolished.

The group decided to hold a demonstration after some court officials moved into residences built on the disputed land, the network’s coordinator Teerasak Rupsuwan said.

The Doi Suthep Forest Reclamation Network hopes this rally will pressure the government into demolishing the 45 houses and 9 condominiums built at the foot of Doi Suthep for the Court of Appeals Region 5. The group said some officials had already started occupying these houses, even after the government had previously promised to steer clear from the disputed land, Teerasak said.

On August 26, the protesters will demand a clear answer on how the government will deal with these properties. If the government is unable to provide a satisfactory answer, then the protest will be extended by another three days and this time, the group said they will use black magic and summon evil spirits.

The government will give promises that they're going to "restore the forest," the protests will stop and 3-4 months time the same outrage will occur again.

"Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad" (Longfellow),

I think if I was stupid enough to have moved into one of the properties after it was clear that there would be ongoing opposition I think by this stage I would not be sleeping well.

I do agree with you though, this is a good definition of insanity!

Start by burning the condos one building at a time, then do the same

to all those houses. Simple solution. Oh and shoot any judge or person who

tries to stop this process. Just my opinion of course.
