Suggestions for which water pump tank to buy and where

Featured Replies

I have a small shop house, just one bathroom, and one sink. The water pressure is terrible. What is the most affordable option to get water pressure in the shower and kitchen sink- that's literally all the water outlets in my place minus the toilet filling. I see huge tanks and pumps at homepro, not sure I need all that. Thanks.

If cost is a factor, then go for the cheaper ones, often blue color plastic.  It will  get growth on the walls inside, moreso if it's in the sun.  Prices go up when you get into higher quality tanks, "food grade" plastic, etc.  I've had big 2,000 liter tanks but for my money, the smaller ones (1,000 liters) are lower to the ground and thus easier to see inside and clean out when the time comes - I've actually got down inside mine a few times.

For pumps, I'm partial to the constant pressure pumps instead of the pressure tank kind.  I've bounced between Hitachi and Mitsubishi over the years, either or for me.

How many floors and is there space for a water tank on the roof or highest floor?

What is the highest floor that has a water main outlet?

On what floor is the shower and kitchen sink?

There's no water outlets on the second floor. It's just a small shop house with a loft upstairs. The bathroom shares a wall with the back yard area, there's room out there for a tank.  Just not sure if there's a pump/tank combo unit, or if I need to buy a huge tank and pump separately. Thanks.

I need the pump too, not just the tank.

If everything is on the ground floor and you only have low pressure and no prolonged water outages, a constant pressure pump may be all you need.

I have had success with the WP range of Mitsubishi water pumps but reckon the smallest EP-155QS shown below will do the trick. No need for a tank.

If pump noise is an issue, for example compromise on pump location inside the house or within earshot of living/sleeping areas due to the the existing mains plumbing, some may recommend a more expensive but quieter inverter motor style pump.

Thanks. I'll check those two out. Appreciate it.
