Motorcycle Luggage Options?

I have a Shad top box and Givi rack on the back of my motorcycle.

I had a fake pair of Alpin saddle bags that cost around 3,500 baht I think.

They held a lot, which was good, but the quality wasn't good from day one. The zips wouldn't zip, the stitching came undone, etc. One ended up rubbing the wheel on one trip and there was a 15cm square hole in the bottom of it.

So they went in the bin.

I need something that holds a lot. And is good enough quality.

I had a Honda tank bag previously, and the quality wasn't good. Stuff inside made holes in the weak material which unraveled and split, the stretchy ties became unstretchy, the stitching on the straps came undone and they fell off.

So that went in the bin.

My options are:

A new pair of saddle bags.

A pair of hardcase panniers (they don't seem to hold much though, and are probably expensive).

A new big tank bag.

A new big rear seat bag.

A combo of big tank bag and rear seat bag.

I'd prefer not to spend too much. Maybe 5,000 baht. Which probably won't buy a lot.

Any advice welcomed.

I was talking about this the other day, a few years ago nearly every little accessories shop had throw over saddlebags and many bikes around had them, but now that seems to have changed. Now that naked and sport bikes are popular, backpacks seem to be the choice for the local Thai riders and saddlebags seem to have disappeared. "Chang Rai saddlebags" still have saddlebags on their website  though.

Different bikes.

There are some good ones here.

Not much reviews or information on the net. Seem to be Chinese made and distributed to Asian countries and online.

My concern would be the material around the zip tearing, the zipper breaking in some way, or the straps and stitching ripping or becoming undone due to the pressure of riding at speed.

They have this Scoyco set for 3,600 baht. I have good enough experience with that brand.

Great bags.

I have an CRF Rally and can't find a rack to fit to it to keep the saddlebags off the exhaust, so if anyone knows................

Personally I think it’s worth spending the money on a high end set.

If you’re on a trip and you Chinese set fail it’ll spoil your trip.

Good set will last for a long time.
