Chinese in Korat?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

We will spend 3 months in Nakhon Ratchasima, and we would like to keep on speaking Chinese (Mandarin) regularly in order to avoid losing fluency.

Do you know if there is some kind of Chinese population in Korat (maybe Chinese stores, shop-owners, residential area, ...)?

Thanks for your feedback!

There is a Chinese cemetery on the way out of Korat and  a Chinese Temple further on. I dunno if they could help you but it wouldn't do any harm to visit them. I think you should find their locations online easy enough.

I believe you might be hard pressed to locate Mandarin Han speakers in Thailand, Hurni.

Most of the larger traditional Chinese communities [BKK, Chiang Mai, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Phuket, etc are of the Cantonese persuasion and even more dominated by the Southern/Southwest Chinese dialects and languages.
