Does seem a bit far fetched as other posters have pointed out, girl cries rape police immediately swing into action, girl taken to hospital finds no evidence of rape. cctv cameras checked out all working nothing amiss, girl apologises and admits she is in the wrong,  in other words everything  is in order  and police doing  their job, cameras working, hospital does a thorough job, all seems a bit like the honest taxi drivers syndrome, this all seemed to materialise after the other Brit girl cries rape on KT that the joke said there was no proof of rape!

come on, he didn't even have a proper report from the girl to go on. just dodgy tao witnesses.

sure he handled it pretty appallingly but well, it's the rtp, what do you expect

Extremely fortunate! Plenty of people have been charged for making false allegations about many things, lesser than this. To wander off without consequence seems to be amazingly lucky.

She won't be booking a return trip to Thailand an time soon !!!

cctv shows no evidence

so it works

now why does cctv not work at other times?

makes me wonder

Sometimes CCTV cameras are working and sometimes they are broken .

FYI, if GHB is used there is absolutely no chance theres a trace of it left after a few hours.

Yeah, But there would be evidence of sex afterwards at the hospital.

another stupid drunk female with ego issues and thinks that she is over attractive and that all males would want to have sex with her...she would plainly deserve some  jail time for her drunken claims...

why doing a drug test for a might be rape victim???

just to say like, 'hey, this girl was doing drugs etc etc'

what a nonsense!

To see if she had been drugged by someone else thus making it easy to rape her....duh.

Hmm, so how does this work, A women who can't remember anything and likely was not assaulted gets the full cooperation from the cops, who apparently go about their business in a methodical manner.

A woman who reports she was assaulted on Koh Tao gets stonewalled in every way.

Different methods to show there was no rape.

Or they were treated the same way and you'll have to draw your conclusions from that.

Another woman who "claim to be raped". If she cannot control the alcohol intake I suggest she should stay in England and find at hotel without CCTV and pin the rape on some other innocent bloke. Maybe she get away with her scam.

I don't think they had sex afterwards at the hospital, going by the report....????

The BIB seem to have done their job?  Test done showed no signs of drugs so not date rape? not sure alcohol? No sign of rape and video show no entry except her.

So what is the explanation as to why she had all her clothes off and laid out near the bed or floor?????

She slept naked.

I know, I'm waiting for pictures to so I can judge!

It just might have something to do with what they already have on their plate

i think she was probably hungover and confused the next day and confided in her father and it was him who contacted the embassy probably a bit paranoid due to the koh tao case and the girl went along with reporting the case.

they investigated and it was found that nothing seems to have happened to her.

wouldn't string her up but her mentioning the brit guy at the pool who seemingly did absolutely nothing wrong doesn't sit well with me.

She's just sad that she was trying to get him all night and he obviously rejected her.

All those typical Thai bashing here very quickly died down. I guess this isn't the kind of news they want to hear.

They wont have to wait very long though for the next opening

This is what drugs do to you, not only alcohol.   I wonder if the other rape case could have been similar ?

Thai RTP doing a pretty good job here after all.

My immediate thought was that the timing of this false (or mistaken) rape report was a godsend for the RTP,  happening  as it did so soon after the Koh Tao case, which is still being investigated. , since it proves  to them that such  false cases do happen.

Presumanly she took off her clothes hersekf and laid them out in piles.

People decide to do strange things in that state.

Eons ago in my younger days, after a night of way too much tequila I returned home, chainlocked the door, and (this part is inference as I really don't recall it) apparently decided what I really needed at this point was mixed vegetables ( not something I would normally eat by itself). Put some frozen mixed veggies on the stove in a bit of water to boil then promptly forgot all about that and went to bed, closing my bedroom door.

Nect thing I knew --- and it took some while to pierce my addled brain -- there was some loud banging from outside the bedroom that just wouldn't stop. Befuddled I got up, realized I was naked, found some clothes and went out of the bedroom to find the rest of the apartment full of smoke and firemen bashing down my front door. Only then did I vaguely realize something had burned on the stove.

It happens.

I have no trouble imagining a drunk woman laying out her clothes for some reason, forgetting she did so then going to bed nude and remembering none of it next morning.

I'm a little less clear why she would think a rapist would have neatly organized her clothing. But maybe she never normally sleeps nude so finding herself so made her think someone else got her there. Likely has also heard scare stories about rapes and spiked drinks in Thailand.

Funny, cross my fingers even at my age I've not had this type of experience and lucky me I don't drink. Based on the story although alcohol was mentioned test required no mentioned of alcohol level in her bloodstream?  As for the report, it said the " Father "  called the police and indicated rape?  Regardless glad it turned out O.K.

Because its a tropical country and not many 25yr old girls sleep in nightgowns anymore!!!

read today in uk news. slightly off topic but anyway think the mods will forgive me. out of all men between the ages of 18-25 arrested for rape in the uk less than 30% end up with a conviction and those reported are believed to be a fraction of those committed.

they may believe but they still have to prove as you know, that's not so easy

Those that were not convicted still had their lives thrown in turmoil. The fact of a non conviction doesn;t seem to get the same publicity as the accusation.

So completely drunk, woke up naked and "thought" she was raped. What kind of skank thinks like that unless this is her typical behaviour.

If the hotel didn't have CCTV to prove otherwise, some innocent guy would have had complete BS accusations against him.

Guess she'll be out drinking again tonight....got that Full Moon Party, so there's another chance for her to get "raped"
