Maybe they don't make it anymore and stock is getting low.

Notebooks use often other modules than PCs. Lower production - higher price.

 

But then there is also the problem that sometime cheap and good RAM is available but not on the official RAM list for that product.

I ordered once for a guy RAM for 4,000B, exactly according to specifications. And later I found out other RAM modules from Kingston with the same capacity cost less than half of that money. But they were not in the official list for that notebook...

Overpriced at your location?

In the UK, I paid 350 baht for a 4GB module(used).
