A South Korean man jumped from the flat roof of a department store in Huay Kaew Road, Chiang Mai yesterday.

CCTV showed the man at a view point, said Chang Pheuak police. Three or four other tourists were enjoying the view. A person came up to him. Shortly after he jumped.

He was found near the entrance to the store on the ground floor, reported Sanook.

Medics gave him CPR and took his to Maharat Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital where he was pronounced dead later.

In Boom Lee, 45, was married and ran a tour business nearby.

He was described as a likable guy with no apparent business problems. He didn't argue with his wife and there seemed no reason to commit suicide.

A doctor's report, medication and ID were found in a bag.

Police are trying to determine whether he fell or jumped.

How very sad.

Clearly, people were concerned about him standing so close to the edge and asked if he was OK.

That was his cue to jump.

I hope I never get to the point of thinking of doing this but I can see how sometimes people feel that it can't be fixed. RIP Korean guy.

Perhaps he had some sort of health-related problem, became dizzy or disoriented.  It does look like he fell, not deliberately pushed himself over the edge, although he was hanging out over the edge too much.

South Korea ranks very highly for suicide amongst men and is the highest in the world for developed, democratic nations. We had one jump off our building.

He appears to me to be standing on a ledge outside the safety rail. then leaned forward and fell.

So sad, my condolences to his family, R.I.P.

What happened to the person who came to him shortly after he jumped? or is there a missing coma somewhere?
