A quickfire Eddie double won us 3 points yesterday after a boring 1st half in which we woke up after 25 minutes. Rogic had a poor shot taken off the line and overall we never worked the keeper despite several corners.

2nd half Duffy  misjudged a cross (what a surprise) but the Saints failed to avail of the chance. But 2 minutes later Rooney climbed above Calmac and Taylor to head home a cross .  Fortunately we were not behind for long.  Christie chased down a ball whipped in an excellent cross from the end line and Eddie turned it in from in front of goal. 2 minutes later after a bout of passing Christie dummied cleverly giving Taylor the chance to centre for Eddie to drag it across the keeper and score.. Celtic seemed to go to sleep after that but apart from a dicey challenge from Duffy we weathered the pressure.

Not very reassuring but hopefully Walsh will be back on Wednesday for Aberdeen.

Great set ups by Christie and superb finishes by Eddy. Their goal was way too easy. A throw in, whip in a cross, 2 players never jump, header is close to keeper-a good keeper would have got a hand to it.

After we get the lead, we are totally out on our feet, cant make a tackle, hame was crying out for Soro at that stage.

It was a typical Lenny type display, no flair or pace to the game, never working the keeper, only 2 moments of individual brilliance got us over the line. Back to our old failings, Lenny still believing in the old guard of Brown McG.

Another torturous watch. Played well enough for first half an hour, again without creating many chance. But the rest of the game was totally clueless, was just like the players could not be arsed. And against a useless Dons side who cannot buy a goal at the moment.

So many players were poor, Christie & Ajeti were  woeful. Eddy had an off night, Ajer and Walsh did look solid, Brown did well when he came on but all other subs so poor, absolutely no impact.

A typical Lenny team display.

Highlights only. A typical consistent inconsistent display. Great hit by Turnbull but some other poor efforts. We seem to be just getting over the line in games we should be winning comfortably.

Celtic this season have become a cure for insomnia.

Yes, we should have won more comfortably against an Aberdeen side that were there for the taking.

Absolutely no pace or flair on the flanks.

Next up a late night encounter at Dingwall.

Further bad news with big CJ likely out till next year and Forrest not back training with team yet.

We are going nowhere fast, just cannot understand why they are persisting with Lenny.

Surely now is ideal for new management team to come in and assess what we have and then have a better idea of who to recruit.

Not only a dreadful result but a dreadful game. A clueless Celtic tried to bludgeon their way to goal and made life comfortable for the County defence. How many times have we made this observation this season.?

On the few occasions we created something some shocking misses. And throw in our usual party piece from set pieces to give County the winning goal.

Lenny continues to blunder on from game to game. My hunch is Celtic have not as yet sourced a decent replacement . You would imagine they could find some temporary replacement till season end. Another few games like this and I would consider basket weaving as a pastime.

Name one player that has improved under that fool Lennon. I'll willingly pay for his taxi fare. His legendary status is now obsolete. He'll never work again as a manager after this fiasco. A giant club with a non league minded manager.

I would love for Lennon to stay. ???? But  in all seriousness. Who do you think will be your next manager?

Confirmation this morning that Lenny has resigned and JK will take over till the end of the season.

Assuming he would be interested I would like to see Steve  Clarke get the job.

I don't think he'll be missed  . . . ????

Surprised (in a way) that he resigned as I thought he was hanging on for a sacking and a big pay off, cause sure as hell he won't be going to manage anyone after this seasons shambles.

And now we have JK. The only option for now, but what a dismally poor option it is!

You're probably happy now.

Personally I thought he was doing a great job. ????????

Same garbage, different manager but had all the hallmarks of a Lenny side.

Started brightly, Eddy with the aid of a deflection put us one up.

They had a few chances, surprise surprise from crosses into the box, one hit the post, one hit the keeper.

Second half we just seemed happy to hang onto a 1-0 lead, Eddy had a great chance to set up Soro for a tsp in but too selfish.

How unfit do we look in the second half of games?

Still cannot believe that they are running with the inspirational Kennedy. He is just a carbon copy of Lennon.

Why not try someone like Henderson for a run of games? Or Connell? At least give it a try, inject some spark or pace. Persisting with Brown and McGregor, <deleted>. And what has Soro done to deserve being dropped?

Terminal decline.

What a rebuild job the new man will have. Surely now would be an ideal tome for new man to come in and assess what he has to do.

Interesting to read a story about Toney being in the house only to let it slip through the fingers, and he is tearing it up for Brentford.

Fortunate winner. Overall looks like nothing to get excited about but that is hardly surprising.

Ridiculous from Eddy at the end not using Soro. He didn't look too "fatigued " to me. Of course it gives us another chance to play our captain and leader and Calmac who is running on fumes.

Unlikely IMO to have a new man in place anytime soon. Every day there seems to be another runner and rider touted. No doubt whoever it is they will be aware that it's going to be a massive rebuild.

I must ask, Mr RC do you go and watch them or are they  just "your team".?

A Glasgow Derby draw in a game we should have won. We had much the better of the game but again were let down by the same shortcomings that have plagued us all season.

Failure to make the most of our chances apart from  excellent goal from Ely from Eddy cross.  Plenty of shots on target but mostly straight at McGregor. Poor decisions in promising situations. A penalty claim when Barisic dived in on eddy. Minimal yes but The Rangers were in danger of conceding a penalty for the first time in a league game this season. Phew.

For the umpteenth time we conceded from a set piece. An unnecessary corner conceded beaten for first header and Kenny ball watching.

Kennedy same asinine decision re subs as Lenny. Bringing on players in the last few minutes and giving them zero chance of making any difference.

The current uncertainty is not reassuring for next season. It looks like we will be defending the Cup with JK in charge till the end of the season.

Celtic began their defence of the Cup with a laboured 3-0 win over Falkirk. Celtic struggled in  the first half to make their dominance pay. Griff missed a sitter and should have got a penalty. But overall the irritation level was steadily increasing when we reached the interval at 0-0. Falkirk defended doggedly but Celtic were making poor use of their  possession.

Memories of the LC defeat were coming to mind but thankfully we went ahead after nearly an hour when Forrest making his first start since September scored with the aid of a deflection. Within a few minutes Christie who up to then had been poor struck a clinical 2nd in the corner.

Thankfully substitutions were not left till the last few minutes and Elyounoussi chipped neatly over the keeper in the closing stages to make it 3.

It would seem that Eddie Howe is set to be the new manager and on tonights evidence he has a big job in front of him.

A 6 goal win over Livi at the weekend gives us hope of a decent performance in the upcoming Glasgow Derby Cup game. With Forrest and Eli out wide they seemed to be far more space than usual but is should be noted that The Rangers defence are unlikely to be as accommodating as Livingston.

The game will be switched due to Royal funeral and a noon ko on sunday is looking the most likely time to play the game.

Another good performance essential if we want to hold on to our Cup.

Looks like cup game is 3pm on Sunday-Shame, as normally early ko, looks like will catch first half in the bar and then a scramble home.

Was a decent performance against Livi. Also, the interchanging both Forrest and Mo were doing created space too. Forrest just gives us better balance.

Must say, well impressed with Welsh, been watching him closely last few games, guy never put a foot wrong against Livi-solid.

Also impressed with Bains distribution.

This Eddie Howe circus continues to rock on, suspect he is seeing what comes up in the EPL.

Another very depressing day as we surrendered the last of our trophies with another abject Glasgow Derby display.

WE conceded two preventable goals and wasted a good few chances but hey what's new in this disastrous season. Poor control from Calmac set up a counter attack. Aribo tried a shot which rebounded of Ajer and fell for Davis who finished with a superb overhead. Celtic were in huge trouble in both full back positions with Laxalt taken off at ht for Taylor. A lot of Celtic pressure saw  Welsh unable to sort his feet out when in front of goal. The Rangers increased their lead when Laxalt was dreadful and let Aribo away far too easily and his cutback was turned into his own net by Kenny under pressure.

Celtic had plenty of pressure in the 2nd half. Elyounoussi had a good chance when he was in on Ferguson but he took a dreadful touch when there was no need and the keeper made a comfortable block.  Eddy volleyed a good chance over and then took a very tame penalty which was another comfortable save for Ferguson. Overall Eddy has been very poor this season.

Our first trophyless season since 2010 and looking ahead things do not look promising. Whoever the new manager is he will face a huge challenge with a big turnover in personnel.  The faithful's faith is being severely tested.

Maybe now they can try something different, drop the loanees and give some younger players game time. Its already well lost, will be taking the <deleted> if the same team runs out next week.

Another shambolic performance up at Aberdeen. Again, no Soro but playing loanees and Brown who's away soon. No pace, way too narrow, nothing on the flanks and cowardly passing-back to Brown.

Eddy with a few chances but seems like he's programed to shoot straight at keeper, been doing that all season. Surprise surprise we concede from a set piece. Turnbull the only player making an effort. CalM and Christie embarrassing. Wee Dembele gets 10min-<deleted>. Griff gets half an hour, does nothing till the goal at the death.

Total waste of time playing Kenny and Brown.

Polish Pat off to the States, amazing we have recouped initial outlay. Ralston will be gone soon. Word is that Barkas not playing because of the terms of his transfer fee, with a chunk to be paid on a certain amount of appearances?? Writing on the wall there, I suspect. With a year left on contract, and an offer on the table, Jack Hendry will likely be away.

Of all the want away's, dead wood, chokers, the only one I would try to keep would be Ajer, make him captain and give him a new deal, top earner.  Him, along with the likes of Forrest, Julian, Walsh, Turnbull, Soro should stay, the rest just not cutting it. Maybe CalM can be reinvigorated by a new manager but he really needs to have a look at himself, should be a leader at his age. Suspect we will be saddled with the likes of Taylor and Ajeti. Griff has had way too many chances, but natural born goal scores are thin on the ground. With his contract up, maybe if a new deal could be cut on reduced wages, he may stay.

I think Ajer will leave after this season, perhaps it depends on the contract but there are some clubs like AC Milan been following him for a while.  But who knows, in this pandemic situation everyone are losing money.

Thoughts on your new manager? I live in Sydney. Ange Postecoglou is a good manager and highly rated in Australia and Asia. I think he will do well. But hopefully not too well. ????

Don't really think a 12 month rolling contract is the right way to show confidence in a manager

Hello Hello Celtic fans

I’ve just stumbled across this thread.

Another huge season ahead, the Glasgow goldfish bowl always says this season is the biggest in a bla bla bla

Big Ange has arrived, however P Lawwell is still behind the scenes, will he be coughing and whispering to Dermot D

Will Dom MacKay get full control or will he be a Jnr CEO

Only time will tell for Big Ange, all new managers need time and support from the board and fans, will that happen this year.

Typical the Glasgow media choose good Cop bad Cop

Stevie G is currently the good Cop

Ange will be targeted by the press as 2nd best to Howe, so expect plenty of cheap shots fired at him.

I hope both Glasgow Clubs do well in Europe as the real test is the Champions league changes in season 2024-25, its 10 games each then HUGE money

Scotland are currently 12th in the rankings, and “could” reach 10-8-6th by 2024

Looking forward to the New season
