Not the first but certainly not the last. 

The kid was never in any danger . And even though I initially thought that it was just another family friend ( about five times previously foreign family friends had dropped by ) I still intervened .

   Even if this was an attempted abduction attempt (which is highly unlikely) , the only way to stop that from happening would to keep the kid indoors all day , which is not an option.
