U.S. T-Mobile Subscribers -- Free Season of MLB.TV

Featured Replies

T-Mobile in the U.S. is once again offering its paying subscribers a free season of access to MLB.TV for activation between now and April 1.

The link I used to take advantage of the promo, signing up on my PC web browser with a U.S. IP address, is here:

A year ago, I think I tried to do the same thing with the T-Mobile Tuesdays Android app, and it rejected me because my T-Mobile account is low-cost pre-paid, not one of their more expensive postpaid monthly plans.

But this time around, [NOTE!!!] I signed in online to my T-Mobile account via the TM website, then used the promo link above, clicked "redeem" and then logged into a prior inactive MLB.TV account I had (it also gives you the option to create a new MLB.TV account if you don't already have one), and I'm watching MLB.TV live games on my PC.

The promo site has detailed language about only being able to use the service while using a T-Mobile device or connected via the T-Mobile network, but I think that applies only when watching on mobile devices. As I said, the promo free subscription activated and plays just fine on my PC browser with a U.S. IP address.

I haven't tried it yet using the MLB.TV app on devices like the Fire TV or Android TV, but I will shortly give those a go...  I'm not going to try to use the service on a non-TM-connected mobile device, since that's almost certain to be a failure.

Installed the app on my Fire TV tonight just fine, entered my ID and password, and bingo, MLB live games. So yes, the method and promo above also works on TV streaming devices that are using a U.S. IP connection.
