Chinese scam call centre busted in Chalong

PHUKET:-- Sixteen nationals – 13 men and three women – were arrested in Chalong this afternoon (April 2) for allegedly operating a stock market price speculation call centre scam targetting Chinese victims.

 

All 16 suspects were arrested at a house in the Baan Maneekram housing estate on Kwang Rd, Moo 1, Chalong, at 10:45am.

 

Present in Phuket today to announce the arrests was Immigration Bureau Chief Maj Gen Surachate Hakparn.

I know a tiny bit about shares and no expert but isn't price speculation what the stock markets is about futures and all that unless insider trading is all that's acceptable here????

Didn't BJ bust some Chinese doing the same thing up in CM and few months back but they could not find anything illegal about what they were doing?

 

Or did this group not hand over a fat enough brown envelope?
