Richmond rely on Cotchin and Martin too much methinks. Look where that got them in the finals. I think Collingwood to improve this year and Richmond to slide.

Are you suggesting Melbourne should move its early picks into the teens? Not this year, won't matter, Hawks and Swans to name a few have don't pretty well without the aid of low picks, comes down to what's there already, noticed Saints fell away ..... Right away once Lyon left staff...good staff are more inportant than the players most of the time. When the Dee's went looking to bring Barrasi back he basically told the club to go get Slug Jordan and a few others, didn't do Barrasi much good but Northey inherited a good team, Barassi made the club get the staff that would bring success and it did.

Will27
Guys One from the rumour files. A mate from Perth called me and said sports jock Brad Hardie said on Monday night, that Harley Bennell was supposed to have been back in Perth 2 weeks ago and still hasn't arrived. Hardie is usually pretty spot on with his mail. The Dockers don't start training until next week so there might not be much in it. With Bennell's baggage though, I think it's a worrying sign, if true. Wonder what condition he will present himself in next week. I hope he's in good nick.

AlexRRR
I got to find a new source of local and overseas news.....tying to open the age has become almost impossible some mornings...any idea guys? Michael Clark former aussie cricket captain has a swipe at a few former team mates and coach, in a rather polite way, why was it always his fault? I wonder too. Rober Wall's dog wrote a book while he (the dog) bob and new partner live/d in France, won't take the time to read it, i mean...all of a sudden ex school teacher thinks his a writer because he wrote for some news paper. Still waiting on the page to open..... Melbourne Victory continued on there winning ways last night against Central Coast in a 2-1 win, Guy (the Brazilian) Fickler netting, Victory as last year slow start are now cranking up the pace moving to the top of the Aleague ladder. No draft again today, there asking us for input on our top etc's...pass Well its almost exciting isn't it...the up coming draft ( yawn) then theres the what after that? Imagine only dec and jan to go before some footy games start again... Haynes Frisco running back and special teams member has dropped off the planet....afer 5 games 3 fumbles getting cut then put on the injury reserve list or something like that was always going to find it hard...As Gerry Rice former 49'er wide receiver said and to be fair a few others, practice games are just that when the real deal starts its a whole new ball game, one former 49'er running back from the glory teams noted, Haynes run's to high, needs to learn to run small....was said watching practice games, now we know why he coughed up the ball 3 times in 5 games.

The points ranking list is interesting. It doesn't take into account some of the injuries/time off payers had and also possible underperformance If Richmond was almost at its peak this year, it would be fair to say Collingwood unperformed slightly. So, with a few players they got, and a new coach, and less time at the tattoo parlour, they should perform better next year

BookMan
Some great news for farmerjo!! NORTH Melbourne hopes to bolster its ruck depth at next Friday's rookie draft, by returning delisted big man Majak Daw to the club. Daw was cut from the Kangaroos' list in October but with the expectation of rejoining the club as a rookie. The Sudanese-born 24-year-old is set to face trial on Monday after being charged with three counts of rape. The alleged incident took place in 2007 when he was 16 and he has pleaded not guilty. His presence back at the club would be welcomed given the slimming down of the club's ruck department when Daniel Currie moved to Gold Coast in search of increased opportunity. Popular Post AlexRRR
Best of the Draft continues 12 hrs later due to TV operating at turtle pace at 6.30 am this morning wont bore you but i got into painting ....the house that is ....was tempted to let it go but i know a few out there were dieing to know... 5-Lance Franklin 221 games Hawks/Swans....best player on the Planet in my humble opinion, better than both Abletts put together, the complete footballer play anywhere, ruck forward midfield......short list was from Luke Power 302 Lions, McVeigh 266 Swans Pendlebury 214 games Woods....stellar company indeed and the number 5 is the pick to have. 4-Peter Matera 253 games WCE....top player in a very good team, short list was from Justin Leppitsch 227 games Lions Scott Lucas 270 games and Matthew Pavlich 335 games Freo. Yes there dragging it out..... Bomber staff are hand delivering a letter from Jobe Watson and i assume from other notable Essendon people door to door to thank members for there support....now what a sucking excersise that is Mr Little. Goddard makes the news again this time saying Woosha can turn us around....ummmm tiss a month before xmas and and the bottom AFL clubs including mine have let it be known to santa that they wish to be contenders next season... Jake misses a training session...think bookie covered this one...Jake lives in a north suburb most likely Essendon and the poor guy has to travel for 1 hour to get to Seaford, we put on the record that the Saints Training ground should be relocated to the Junction oval which will cut Jakes travel to 30 min and that ground is a better fit for his new M3 BMW Dons 1.3 million dollar loss is blamed on the supplement saga....id hate to think how much they really lost...study tour to France on full pay for Hird and family, the nice payout on his resignation, the lawyers fees for the last 2 or 3 years, Hird just about broke them, Sheedy spent 20 years building up that club to be all powerful then his star player destroys all his work in just 4 years. You must have miss this one Bookie....Dunkley jr nominates the Swans (father son) The AFL warn clubs against draft collusion, they also think the Dee's will bid for Swans academy midfield Callum Mills at pick 3...Can the swans afford him? International rules will be played in temperatures of zero, makes a nice change, they will have to run harder to get warm fast, Clarkson says the boys will be ok he don't see it as a disadvantage.... Popular Post BookMan
just 4 years. You must have miss this one Bookie....Dunkley jr nominates the Swans (father son) The AFL warn clubs against draft collusion, they also think the Dee's will bid for Swans academy midfield Callum Mills at pick 3...Can the swans afford him? I saw Dunkley had nominated at the last possible moment. The video of him talking on AFL.com shows him to be a level headed thinker at age 18. Sydney will 100% take Callum Mills. It has been speculated Mills would go top 5 and Sydney has enough points. Whether or not they take Dunkley might depend on where he is selected in the draft. Anyway, not sure where all these midfielders are going to play. Dunkley was injured this year, so one advantage to Sydney is he has not been able to show case his talent this year. Speculation was he might go in the 20s. Sydney can take him, by using up next years first round selection, if he is picked by another team early. I still reckon that is the big issue for the AFL and the point system. Other teams selecting a player early they dont want to force team B into using their points up early. There is nothing to stop it happening and frankly it makes a lot of sense fo rsome opposing clubs.
Popular Post AlexRRR
The best of the draft saga continues.....im thoroughly bored guys...im only still doing it because i started it....god dam new paper has put me off....even yesterday morning poped into local shopping centre at 7.30 and the Age hadn't been delivered, there got a contempt for its readers not to mention its $3.50 on a saturday and 2.50 week days...they put up the price in 10c increments i swore and not that long back when it got to a $1 i would stop buying it, well i stopped buying it every day at $1.10, went from 6 days a week to 2 or 3 now its 2 saturdays a month and the odd weekday....but there stretching it now.... While I'm having a wobbly moment the content is way down as well... Ok You ready? only one today and its...... the suspense is killing you right? 3-Chris Judd-WCE/Carlton 279 games, his star faded last couple of years due to being in a crap team, Dee's were all over themselves when he made it known he wanted back to the big Vic, you see he and his family were Dee's supporters, the men in red and blue thought they had it sown up until Richard Pratt put down the sweeteners.....( he will never have to work again) wonder if Judd got to play with any of Pratts mistresses.... Pick 3 has a couple of good names there but most are forgettable...pick 5 was the number to own.... Steve Feby 1986 Dee's ho yes top player, ever sure and so cool, classy and able to put the ball on your chest a delight to watch. 87 Graham Wright Woods... 94 Shannon Grant Swans....im sure he was a good player 97 Trent Croad Hawks 2000 Alan Didak Woods 2003 Col Sylvia Dee's/Freo.......im not joking here...he was actually very good especially early in his career, could burst open a pack, early on he was a power midfielder with pace, many times he would bust the centre square open run 20 meters and boot a goal.....i suspect one to many nagging injuries changed his mindset into a lazy boy. 2009 Dustin Martin Tigers ...well still fresh might now be one of the top 5 midfielders in the comp, i had him in my fantasy team racked up the points concistently especially in the second half of the year. So what have we learned so far? that Clay Sampson at pick 41 was it? there hasn't been anyone quite like that since...

Popular Post BookMan
Recruit Sinclair 'privileged' to be working with Swans' powerful midfield SYDNEY Swans recruit Callum Sinclair feels privileged to be training with one of the competition's most star-studded midfields. After spending three seasons with West Coast alongside the likes of Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis and 2015 All Australian Andrew Gaff,Sinclair will now run out at the Swans with an even more impressive onball division. Led by dual club champion Josh Kennedy, reigning AFL Coaches Association MVP Dan Hannebery, 2014 best and fairest Luke Parker, plus 2012 premierships stars Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack, the Swans midfield is stacked with experience and class. Add youngsters Tom Mitchell, Jake Lloyd and Isaac Heeney to the mix and you can understand why the former Eagles ruckman can't wait for next season to come around. "When you look at those names, there's some pretty talented footballers running around," Sinclair told AFL.com.au. "To be able to train with those guys, and be able to work with them in the future is something I'm really looking forward to. "I feel very privileged to be able to call those guys my teammates now and hopefully I get to learn as much as I can off them, it's going to be great." Sinclair played second fiddle to West Coast star Nic Naitanui in Perth, but played 20 games in 2015 and provided a solid option both in the ruck and inside forward 50. In Sydney, the 26-year-old will likely work in tandem with forward/ruck Kurt Tippett, after the retirement of Mike Pyke. The 200cm tall said he was looking forward to building a relationship with Tippett and the rest of the Swans' big men. "Kurt (Tippett) got in touch with me over the break, and I'm looking forward to working with him," Sinclair said. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-11-24/recruit-sinclair-privileged-to-be-working-with-swans-powerful-midfield Edited November 23, 2015 by BookMan
