The Eagles were travelling alright with a Redden led midfield.

It was when Simpson bit the bullet to get the guns back in there and some game fitness under their belts that things started falling apart.(Shuey in and out as well)

Zone defences only work where there's pressure on the ball carrier.

Monday night football.....nice.......Demons holidaying in Perth come up against a wounded Eagles, well the Demons had a pretty easy training run last week....no one got hurt, well i though Big Tom had, Simon might be playing silly buggers with Simpson as you know Tom was on the bench for most of the last quarter, Sam the unsigned Weed has been selected as an emergency no doubt to cover but then again so has Jake Melksham who plays a similar but more up the ground role....Jack got rubbed out, reminiscent of the Grinter days here fellas, didnt look so bad to me...but will take it on the chin, Jack hasn't been firing like we know he can and my opinion Viney and Oliver on the ball is to much of the same same, anyway Aaron VandenBerg, remember him? i do, owns shares in hospitals, solid as a thripple brick wall 6 feet high has been selected as a emergency, when his career ends in a few years time can look back at over ten years and 40 games....... Joel Smith too but thats a red herring men......hes likely to get delisted next year and picked up by North.....my tip is Berg for Viney and Meklsham for big Tom if he is out, Weed...no sign no play and didnt play for Casey last week either as i watched the game....well fast forward through it as it was as exciting as watching the grass grow.....Anyway you know the Demons like to keep the opposition in the game for as long as the game goes, forget last week...it was an aberration, not the norm, unusual, Eagles to come out all hyped up, some say Ben will smuggle in some of that crystal stuff to get them going, well thats why the Germans were very successful early in the 2cd world war, the previous incarnation of Ben was as a chemist in pre war Germany....Oh? so who will win, flip a coin, but since Viney is out means the midfield will get a shake up which should give us the edge....just.....

The reason i asked is i'm trying to get my head around the penalty.

I know it's not condoned but the penalty is way out of proportion compared to acts of violence.

I reakon if Adelaide were in finals contention it would of been slipped under the carpet with an apology.  

I guess the AFL has to pay for all these charter flights so i see the merit of the fine but the suspension is out of hand.

There's no way these things get swept under the carpet.

I mean, he was reported by a club official.

 

If he wasn't a club legend, ex-captain, I reckon he might've got the sack.

I haven't lived in Aus for over 17 years so time and lack of exposure to how the public behave on a general basis may well have gotten away from me.
