I cant ever remember the A/C on 24/7 for this long think the rain cant penetrate the smog in CM and when it comes the following humidity will boil you on the spot????

Yes, it is hot, but this weather, sunny with sometimes a shower, is quite normal for this time of year.

Official start to rainy season is the 1st May.

We still need to see the wind start to swing and lots of electrical storms first, before we see good rain.

I think that we are at the start of this now. My best guess is we'll see rain in the middle of May.

I agree with that. Started to swing from South last week, but sort of stalled. Couple off weeks from South West then rains will start.

Steve, I had just the place in Auckland, New Zealand you could have rented.

Would have suited you perfectly, that's why we are here.

Auckland? Don't you mean Millford Sound?

went to Milford Sound once and yes it rained.

even the Moose found it too wet down there and died out.

Auckland's bad enough though.

A fair bit of rain in Buriram since March 20. Some downpours even, with the expected brownouts. Trees look happy too, while the frogs get loud.

Things are getting serious. We have no water left, well bone dry.

Contacted every water company I can find. Some say 6 day queue. Some say no water at all. Hotels are getting priority.

One truck company said 3000 baht for 5000 litres but need to wait 3 days in their queue.

Looks like it's time to check into a hotel room. Unbelievable.

Edit: just read this. Local government now admits to shortages.

First time I've heard the term water lords. Lol.

Yep ... you need to be a regular customer to get water trucks. They can't supply anyone new. We pay 700 baht for 6 k liters and can get same day delivery. Right now we have a truck every day.

Just been reading the crisis no crisis statement from the Gov- made me chuckle.

It's all down to image and 'misunderstandings' as usual.

Very interesting. I can't understand why I missed out in Chalong.

Although, I do have a resident frog.

You won't deny me a bit of "schadenfreude", do you?

Heading to the circle from Mai Harn around 1030/11am yesterday saw a small excavator had punctured a mains water line, never a good thing to do but doubly so at the moment.

This is an "El Nino" year apparently, the last one of those that I remember here the rains were late & there were a lot less of them so if the same happens again the drought will be well & truly on...

A lot of the reservoirs here in the NE have never completely filled from the last one so it looks like droughts are going to happen more often...

All complaints to the great pixie in the sky. We have been warned that El Nino will cause the rainy season to be late and short, pity the farmers not the expats wanting a cool shower.

The rainy season is forecast to arrive 4 weeks late, so some time closer to the last week in May 1st week in June.

It could be a bit of a long wait.. I read not long ago that there is a fairly strong possibility of El Nino event this Thai summer.. along with global warming producing a scorcher of a summer..  lots of info if you Google El Nino Thailand 2019.. a lot of very academic articles but easy to get the picture if you read a bit..

We are just outside of the city of Chiang Rai. Last night we had some rain. It lasted less than 30 minutes.  It was the first rain for us since January (maybe December)

Every place is different.. my northern village now has water rationing for daylight hours as the ground water tables are low...

Drove from Nakhon Sawan to Bangkok yesterday. From 20 km south of NS right down to Ayuttaya the roads were awash so must have been heavy rain for at least 150km stretch .
