Photo: Seang Prachachon Kon Phuket / Facebook PHUKET: More than six months after a Phuket airport taxi driver wiped out six vehicles and killed a motorbike rider whilst driving a tourist from the airport on Thepkrasattri Rd during morning rush hour traffic, the lead police investigator for the case is pretty confident that he will finally hand the case over to the Phuket Prosecutor to proceed with legal action next Tuesday (May 7). The taxi driver, Marut Puangsombat, 23 years old at the time of the accident, at 8am on Oct 30 last year, was initially charged by police with reckless driving causing death after the wipeout – which killed 40-year-old Phuket resident Mr Anuson Rattanadilok Na Phuket. trainman34014 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 The Driver probably hasn't had time to visit the Police Station yet ! 1
RotBenz8888 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 “The taxi driver has not been detained,” Capt Suporn reconfirmed, noting that Marut has been free to continue working as a taxi driver picking up and dropping off tourists at Phuket International Airport during the tourism high season while the investigation into the accident has continued. Anyone surprised? 1 1

Anyone surprised? Not surprised, but would like know the link between the police and the taxi driver. Some obscure family link through in-laws perhaps? 1 1 1
sammieuk1 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Doubt they will be able to make the reckless diving charge stick its probably his normal diving style he will argue ???? 2
notasmartassknowitallfarag Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 What an absolute disgrace. Shame on Phuket police for letting this happen. Obviously involved with the taxi mafia and perhaps from a well connected rich family, although not sure why he would be driving a taxi if so.

Aussieroaming Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Now that they have notified the country that he will be charged, it gives him the opportunity to slip out the back jack.

madmitch Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 It does appear that the one rule for one person and a different rule for another seems to apply here as people have been held on remand or arrested and released on bail released on bail for similar - and lesser - offences immediately after the event. 1
Dexlowe Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 This is all so wishy-washy and limp-wristed. The facts of the case seem very clear-cut, so initial charges can be laid - of that I'm certain. This is exactly how his turdship, the Red Bull scumbag, managed to slip away.
TheHangingJudge Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Absolutely disgusting behavior from Phuket police. 1
