Hi 

Does anyone know the legal issues around how much of the wheels / tyres need to be covered on a vehicle ?

 

i have a Registered daily used Jeep and want to reduce the front fender size

As far as i know your wheels/tyres are not allowed to be wider than the fenders.

Having said that i see vehicles everyday that have the wheels sticking out by a few inches.

On my own vehicle the wheels and fenders are in line and the tyreshop sales person told me that is ok.

I know from a previous vehicle that wider wheels spray dirt and gravel all over your nice paintjob.

You could probably go ask the dvm,they should know the rules.
