INN reported on a road accident in Mae Sot, Tak in Thailand north west when an Australian doctor helped give first aid to a motorcycle rider injured in a collision.

The Australian was named as Michael John Kewlie (name transliterated from Thai) who is working with Myanmar people in Thailand.

The accident involved a Honda CBR motorcycle and an Isuzu pick-up - both with Bangkok plates - outside a hotel on Chitwana Road.

Worawit Wora was not wearing a helmet and was seriously injured.

The driver of the pick-up, Prasert Butwong, 57, was doing a u-turn when the accident occurred.

INN said people at the scene praised the Australian for his quick actions.

Quite the news, so someone offered help after an accident instead of taking videos and going on with their day?

Well done that man but i just hope he wasn't asked if he had a work permit or accused of 'taking jobs from Thai's'  !

"Worawit Wora was not wearing a helmet and was seriously injured" ??? not wearing a helmet like 90 % on the road,.... No sympathy for morons !!!

Lucky day for the rider that someone with some knowledge was on hand for instant help.

True, but at least he knows what to do properly without causing further injury.

A change from people reflexively picking up accident victims which is an horrendously dangerous thing to do.
