Hi Guys,

I was looking at getting AIS Fibre (300/100) with the Play box, but I cant figure out if theres actually a data limit (Fair Usage Policy) on any of these packages. Does anyone have AIS fibre who knows about this? On the website it mentions 15Gb limit for this package before the speed drops to 384 kbps which is kind of small and it doesnt say how often it refreshes. On the other hand, when I phoned up AIS the rep said there is no Data limit so now im just confused about this.

Can anyone advise on this?

thanks!

You are confusing mobile data packages with your terrestial connection. There are likely no data limits that you will hit unless you uploading and downloading at max speed 24/7.

Don't worry. It doesn't sound like you are the kind of person who will be taxing the connection if you are writing about 15 GB.

If you were writing about 1500 GB, it might be a different story.

In case you are still confused; You get a SIM card in addition to your Fibre connection to your home. Fibre connection is unlimited. Data for the SIM card is 15 GB per month(slowing down to 128 kbps if you use up the 15 GB before the month is up). So do not be concerned.

We have two AIS contracts, it's the normal domestic service but used in our buildings where we let rooms.

AIS did not say anything when we installed about a "commercial" contract and even with 18 rooms occupied and likely connected, we have never been capped.

For AIS Fiber, any FUP figures, if they are defined, might be in the Thai-language version of the contract?

AFAIK, there are none defined -  ages ago some broadband service providers here had FUP language like XX-GB in 24 hours - but expect there is some general language regarding the service provider's ability to manage QoS and bandwidth in extreme cases to ensure their commitment to all customers.

I stagger to think about my AIS fiber (200/100) monthly download figure -  I always go for the 1080 file now, the bigger the better.

Don't believe you have any concerns with AIS Fiber, or 3BB Fiber or True Online Fiber.

Yes, mobile data service providers have clearly defined FuPs ( monthly capacity, or bandwidth ). Not the same obviously.

"On the website it mentions 15Gb limit for this package before the speed drops to 384 kbps"

AIS offers triple-play options, like the Power4 MAXX, which include streaming video, and mobile usage (on AIS). This 15 GB /384 Kbps refers to that add-on, data only BTW, no voice minutes so you pay extra for those.

Note the asterisk. refers to 4G.
