Pandora Problem

Featured Replies

Maybe this should be in the Audio/Video forum - please move if appropriate.

So, I stream Pandora from the USA via a VPN.  Up until the last couple of days this has worked flawlessly but now, for whatever reason, the stream stops after every track - not always but most of the time - and I have to click the 'next track' button for the stream to resume.

This does not seem to be a browser issue - same problem on Chrome, Chromium and Firefox.  It may be an issue with the VPN or with Pandora itself.  The Pandora 'help' page is not actually any help at all.  Anyone out there using Pandora having a similar problem?

Update.

This seems to be a problem that's related to Pandora ads.  White-listing the Pandora site in Adblock+ removes the problem.  The downside, of course, is that you then get a lot of intrusive advertising, including audio ads, which are really annoying.

With Adblock+ enabled. Pandora will play maybe two or three tracks but then, if an audio ad is scheduled, Adblock prevents it from playing and the stream just stops.

I think that I could get round this by including an appropriate script in Tamper-monkey (anti ad block blocker) but, for the moment, I'm using the Brave web browser.  This has a built-in ad blocker so Adblock+ is not needed.  Pandora forever - the ad-on that dismisses the 'are you still listening' pop-up - is not working though but that's a minor annoyance.
