Friend leaving country is selling Honda Jazz 2006, 162,000km

It’s in vgc with just a little scraping on the wheels and a bit of cracked paint rear bumper the size of a teacup.

Fake leather seats in vgc.

I’d consider it at a good price and sell our two elderly cars both need work as I trust there will be no hidden faults.

What is a good price?

ps it doesn’t have a reversing camera is it possible fit a screen in the radio area?

pps can the seat rails be adjusted for slightly longer legs?

Thanks v much

Look... https://www.bahtsold.com/ ...and find price comparison there's many more car sales sites if you google search.

Bear in mind s/h cars are hard to sell unless they knocked down from silly prices asked for.

Auto electric shop will sort you a reversing camera.

If you have tried the seat in it's full back position and you want more it is possible to have work done to adjust it further.

in true terms at the current exchange rate 19000 baths, that's all it is worth how Thailand ask so much for second hand cars is beyond me, see what happens to old cars after the 10th of December with there new emissions law comes into force

Check Bahtsold, One2Car etc for the high "asking prices" and offer a lower price.

Coincidentally I'm back in the UK for a short spell and just picked up a 1.4 Manual Jazz 2007 58,000 Miles for £1900.

Thanks for all answers.

A pal who likes looking up cars spent some time on the websites and said I’m looking at about 200k asking price from mostly online dealers so take off a mark up of......what?......for a private deal.

I’d be willing to pay Stubuzz's 150k given the pretty high mileage and consider it worth changing plans for (renovating the Vitara, but it’s a friend and I wouldn’t want to skinflint him.

Out of interest the other friend found a Suzuki Celerio 1 litre2016 7500km seems a steal at 289,000.would have been a perfect economy car for commuting daily to the hospital if she hadn’t bought a new Toyota Sienta and put herself in hock for four years.

I have a Celerio CVT, for me a fun car, after market wheels and tyres turned it into a go kart....Driving it reminds me of my 60's Mini Cooper days, though with this ride the brakes are shit hot and the power steering makes it a breeze to drive.......

Actually looks good.
Presumably pretty compact and lighter than a Jazz?
New price range ballpark?

2006 Honda Jazz with 160klms on the clock retails second hand 180,000-240,000 depending on condition.

If it's in good condition and not knocked about and inside is good then your looking at the 200-240k mark.

160klms is nothing ….

I discovered something  important.

Rather than an iVTEC this Jazz is a i-DSL.

I have also learned it will be a CVT auto transmission.

The engine type is said to be somewhat underpowered. This doesn't bother me much.

The CVT however has a bad reputation i hear including from Scotty Kilmer on Youtube.

Anyone know about this.

ps I haven't been wasting my time. The Vitara is in a highly recommended backstreet shop getting checked out for repair/demolition ????

I normally like PtoAuto but they would send it out anyway so I'm trying out this place a friend has used (as does the ex mayor of CM) for donkeys years. When he gave it a quick look I saw all the right things happening. It was also nice that I drove it there with no overheating.

I wanted to know whether the Vitara could be a forever car before I thought seriously of buying the Jazz. OR I could keep both........IF we think the Jazz transmission and mileage are acceptable.

You may be right there, but i heard the same thing from a friend as soon as I mentioned CVT.

It looks like the iDSI goes cheaper as well.

Jazzes are insanely expensive second hand. Buy new for the jazz and city. The early i-dsi cvt's had problems. Perhaps any car bought now would have had those issues dealt with a while back.

Well it’s done 160k km.and my friend owned for abt three years yeah could have been fixed before, but haven’t been told, and he also bought it from a good friend so unlikely.
Wonder what these problems are.

There is mention of issues with this gearbox in the below links...and elsewhere. I don't know how extensive these problems were though, and it's a long time ago since I first read about it. The modern cvt's in hondas seem to be more reliable.
