Port v Hawthorn must be the game of the round next weekend.

Hard to seperate them. [Go Port]

Anyone know if they'll be showing it somewhere in Pattaya?

It depends on what Australia Network is showing, and they're pretty secretive. Check some of the bars out with Foster's signs up.

So who do you guys fancy for the Brownlow?

The Brownlow Midfielders Medal is fairly open this year.

In contention are Ablett and Bartel (Geel), the Cornes bros from (Port), Kirk (Syd), Brent Harvey, Simpson (Kangas).

My tip: Foley from Richmond.

The Boxing Roo on 3rd road.

I'm a bit one-eyed but I reckon Ablett will take the Brownlow.

Ablett has had a top season, must be a chance as long as none of the current crop of umpires remember his old man.

Most of the players are almost clones these days; key position players are like dinosaurs and the rest are "play anywhere anytime" guys. I suspect the fittest will win this year, rather than the best.

and the "Norm Smth" medal to Andy Mcleoud :o

Speaking of the Abletts didn't Gary senior win one once? No premiership medal though so he said it wasn't worth shit.

Yeah I'll let McLeod win it as long as I get a copy of the video of Mandy and Rachael pulling each other's hair out at the runners up party afterwards.

Matthew Pavlich has announced he has signed for another three years with Fremantle.

When he was coming out of contract last time he flew to Adelaide and spoke with the Crows - they declined. Power wanted to talk to him about a contract but both his dad and uncle who played in the SANFL would disown him if the took them up. He actually did sit down with Port and offered to move over but they decided against it. He went back to Freo and now has developed into a very good player and fits in well with the Dockers. I can't understand teh Crows knocking him back - lord knows they need a strong forward who can not only take a good mark but actually consistently kick goals as well unlike Burton the flying pelican.

The Cows have made some appalling recruiting decisions over the years, giving up draft picks and expending large slabs of their salary cap on players who have contributed little to the team. They probably have the least depth of any league side, with any injury to a key player resulting in a loss of team form. Port and the Eagles have both had appalling injury lists this season but still manage to be around the top four.

They hoped to turn this around by luring Alan Stewart, Port's recruiting manager, to West Lakes but the talk around town is he's ignored by the committee at draft time. Strange behavior when your paying some one more than the coach to advise you on draft picks.

Pavlich? You win some you lose some.

One of the worst decisions they made was picking up Wayne Carey at the time of his "unfortunate error of judgement". Before the days of teh Crows I was an ardent supporter of the Roos and Carey but what he did was despicable and the team fallout when he went to Adelaide was definitely not worth the benefit he showed in his skills. It divided the club and became the focus of attention with the Adelaide media. It took away some options for recruiting of a younger player (Pavlich?) and had absolutely no benefit to the club. I cannot understand what the club management thought they were doing.

Matthew Pavlich wanted to go back to Adelaide and offered the Crows a very generous package to secure him. One of the reasons the Crows didn't take him was that he had an exisiting shoulder injury which the club viewed a being debilitating and would prevent him from being a key forward - yeah right ya idiots. Ever had a look at the number of, especially tall players who are wearing strapping across their shoulders for exactly this very common injury (same and I got). It is caused by going up high and marking then falling with the arms hitting the ground and taking all the body weight. It tears out shoulder blades and rotator cuffs. Freemantle could not believe their luck in getting Pavlich back and were smart in taking a long term interest in him.

Talking about appalling recruiting decisions, Fremantle had first dibbs on Andrew McCloud, but showed little interest when he turned up in town to meet club officials.

He was very unimpressed with the club and ended up with The Crows.

Mark Ricciuto announced his retirement this afternoon; in my opinion... and I hate the freaking Crows... ending one of the great AFL careers since the league's formation.

If he has a regret it would be dropping that lad from the Eagles a couple of years back, his suspension effectively costing the Crows a premiership.

The end of an era, at the end of the season though, he has done it all (tredrea should follow his example) :D:o

Don't worry, he'll go as soon as Port reckon he's finished. No sentimentality in footy these days.

Midfielders usually have longer careers than the tall guys. Lot of pressure on the body with those short <deleted> jumping on your back all the time.

David Neitz plays his 300th tonight. Unbelievably the only Melbourne player to reach the milestone.

And celebrated it with three goals and an eleven point loss to the Collywobbles.

Geelong had their 15th victory in succession, the longest winning streak within a season in the club's history.

GO CATS!

They have to drop one game before the end of the year. Will it be the last one and tear their supporters hearts out again? :D:D

I hope they win it, they deserve it . My team certainly doesn't deserve to win again, they've played some crap footy at times this year. :o

A fresh drug scandal broke to day involving a Melbourne club where seven players including the captain allegedly tested positive.

The AFL got a court order and shut down all information before I came one line.

Will check the club forums and try to find one where it hasn't been erased yet.
