PM told to read out of the text of policy statement verbatim

Prayut-parliament-address.jpg

Instead of issuing or barking orders in a manner familiar to him during his military career and as head of the military junta and its government, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha found himself having to take instructions from other people when he delivered the government’s policy statement in parliament this morning.

Apparently unaware that he is required, by parliamentary regulations, to read the precise text of the policy statement out loud, the Prime Minister tried to improvise by speaking in a debate style.

For instance, he said Thai society must move forward and Thai people must live a better life to meet the challenges of the 21st century, and then he asked if anyone did not agree with this.

More interesting theater than a Thai soap opera...can't wait for the unhappy lover to confront the husband...????

Still, not quite as crazy as the US Whitehouse

I wonder why the parliamentary officials (do such things exist in this country?) didn't brief him and ALL new members of Parliament on correct procedures & etiquette ...

How about the whole current Thai government showing the Thai public ... education that justifies them to be in office and running the country

I don't believe education has anything to do with being an elected official.  It is about representing the people who voted for them and doing good, fighting corruption and serving the people. They must be smart and honest, but 'educated', I don't think so.

It is about time others stood up for what is just, against a figure-head that represents, in my opinion, a dictator,  who created the somewhat unattractive Thailand  that now prevails.

Thai do deserve a lot better and can achieve much more, but their attitudes need to change especially toward foreginers the enviroment plus respect all round.

This is the 21st century, not the dark ages!  Humans dwell far too much into the past. History is the past, and not important.

There is too much dead wood plus stagnant waters based mostly on past historical events, all over this planet...

The amount of black hair dye in that room is staggering.

Nothing more pathetic than old men with bad dye jobs.

A post containing a video in Thai language has been removed.  English is the only acceptable language anywhere on ThaiVisa including Classifieds, except within the Thai language forum, where of course using Thai is allowed. Short Thai translation of technical terms is permitted in specialty forums.
