July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post ‘Oak’ dares finance minister to prove his honesty By The Nation Panthongtae Shinawatra, son of self-exiled former premier Thaksin Shinwatra, has dared Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana via Facebook to swear before the revered Emerald Buddha statue that he has been honest regarding controversial loan approvals. Panthongtae, known by his nickname “Oak”, posted on Sunday that Krung Thai Bank records contradict Uttama’s defence offered during Thursday’s policy debate in Parliament. He posted a photo of a 2003 loan document signed by all five members of the bank’s executive board, including Uttama. Uttama has insisted he did not approve the loans worth Bt9.9 billion to companies affiliated with property developer Krisda Maha Nakorn Plc. Panthongtae suggested Uttama did not act in the public’s interest as a member of the state-owned bank’s executive board, “so how is he qualified to be finance minister overseeing a trillion-baht annual budget?” He dared Uttama to swear before the Emerald Buddha at the Grand Palace that he reaped no personal benefit from approving the loans. The Bank of Thailand investigated the loan deal in 2005 and a second investigation was launched following the 2006 coup that ousted Thaksin, resulting in convictions against several influential figures. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders in 2015 sentenced three former KTB executives – board chairman Suchai Jaovisidha, president Viroj Nualkhair and board member Matchima Kunchorn na Ayutthaya – to 18 years’ imprisonment each. Seventeen other people were also convicted. The court found Suchai and Viroj guilty of malfeasance in office and violations of laws regarding state enterprise employees, commercial banks, securities firms and public companies. Uttama and Chainarong Indharameesup were alleged to have been involved in illegally approving loans but were not charged with any wrongdoing. Panthongtae was late last year charged with colluding in money laundering after allegedly receiving a Bt10-million cheque from an executive of Krisda Maha Nakorn that prosecutors suspected was linked to the KTB loan scandal. The outcome of that case is still pending. July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post I sense Oak has more information that he is yet to release. ...and baiting Uttama into making a false statement. This could get fun.

They are all liars anyway. I'm not sure swearing before the Emerald Budda will stop any lies, if it keeps him out of an 18 year stretch, like his associates got.
July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post he already has lied to parliament, he did sign loan in 2003. Now should be removed from the office and convicted, in light of new evidence
July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post sounds desperate, like a 'I won't go down alone" bleat - surprised he hasn't run as yet..

Hand over a copy of the sighted document to the relevant police department at a media event. 2. At same event hand over a copy to the secretary of whoever of the PM, at same media event.

Well the document he's just come up with possibly has no bearing on oak's case but is very relevant to whether uttama is qualified to be in the finance chair.

Qualified, what's that got to do with being part of the junta fan club / and having a preferred position at the trough, no different than the majority now in charge, a bit like Nero and Rome.
July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post The 'fun' bit in this 'contest' is that, outside of that Uttama former Shin and now Prayuth doormat being lying his head of, ...this, fraudulent, KTB loan was made to please 'daddy' Thaksin, who will, most probably, be sentenced to jail for his role in the scam, as were already other accomplices who are now behind bars... Not sure that this document's (when authentic) 'sudden apparition' in Oaf's hands will serve Thaksin well in his case... P.S.: is there a reason for the Nation not to remind the readers about the amount of this corrupt 'loan', some X,000,000,000 Baht, wasn't it?
July 29, 20196 yr I suppose that in the usurpers limited mental capacity he figured that if the guy got away with a big con a few years back he can possibly do it again under the guise of Finance Minister, you really would have trouble making up some of this stuff ????
July 29, 20196 yr Popular Post I like Oak's style. Uttama doing this would be a public display. If as many think he has more information then no matter whether he is charged or not Oak showing that he is a liar or putting his honesty into question would kill him and hurt Prayut. Remember the last name this family has very few stupid members. They may not be the cleanest but they definitely are not the dumbest. There is a plan to this madness

Sure, none of them are qualified and the process used to form a 'government' totally flawed.

July 30, 20196 yr just like the entire junta and the latest election you win whether you win or lose, you are bullet proof if you support the criminals in power

You have a Western mindset, that wont make it far in Thailand. The idea is to play this out in the media as long as possible to destroy the credibility of your opponent. Without his credibility hurt there wont be a conviction as the current powers need him. Only when he becomes useless he should begin to worry. If Oak handed it over to the police/justice department, they would start "investigating" it for a few years during which you cannot take action (they will say they are already investigating it so just wait for the results) and at the end of the road they will state they couldnt find anything illegal. After 4+ years of investigation it is hard to get the media warm again to cover this old piece of news and the opportunity is lost. I think "Oak" has a cunning plan that perfectly fits Thailand and his interests, so no need to give him advice as he has been playing this game for longer than any of us.

Yes he certainly has the criminal mindset like all them involved in the game.
July 30, 20196 yr Uttama has threatened to sue against individuals that discredit him in connection to this bank case. Well this is beyond discrediting him and more like an accusation. If he has the guts, he should sue Oak. I think he fear a court case that will open up the court hearings that will expose more dirty laundries.

The genius Oak couldn't even cheat in Uni exams without getting caught - and cheating is an established finely honed skill for Thai students.
July 30, 20196 yr I thought all politicians, military, police, bureaucrats etc swear, before a portrait of the King, an oath to be honest in the conduct of their duties. Is this not correct?

He does have a father who was and is great mastermind . i have a feeling , he wants him to follow through and face the Buddha and this is when another piece of paper would be produced ( courtesy of his father ) then its lied in the parliament and lied to God, no other option but to dismiss or to make Oaks case go away prior to second document resurfacing

Yes we are talking about an amount over 9,9 billion baht that was divided between 4 persons where 3 of them was Taksin, His wife and Panthong.
July 30, 20196 yr A chip off the old block. So, in a few years we will see the dinosaurs sprogs beating each other like their fathers and forefathers did in parliament. This little "Oak" boy might be taught a lesson in politeness too; take off your shades if you talk to someone. He might be not aware but while this posting is listed and commented, others are digging around in his father's activities in the past - lets see the next step and yep, this could be fun indeed!

Allow me to correct your ill informed posting. The 9.9 B Baht loan was for Golden Technology affiliated to the Krisdamahanakorn Group and Meechai was the company executive.

And, as already said, this could in fact bounce back and rehit his father's case in this loan scandal, where the guilty who didn't flee are in jail on 14 / 18 / 22 year sentences.
