  • Get a UK sim and there is no issue, they have what they want and you can get what you need, problem solved.   Most phones are dual sim these days, I have a Thai sim amd UK sim in one phone.

    First of all @Oxx this is not Nationwide lunacy, as you call it, at all. These are new security standards that being imposed on all UK banking institutes in order to reduce fraud. Particularly on-line

  • The only thing that would stop the sms getting to you is:   Wrong number entered  No credit on the sim Sim has expired. Sim not installed.   Cant think of any other

I have registered my sons UK mobile number, and he then messages me the code - only downside is that it limits my access to when he's available... but it's not really a problem, and is a suitable work-around.
