What to do with concrete fish pond?

Just moved into a town house that has concrete mosquito pit fish pond in the corner of the yard.  It's currently empty(ish), fills up a bit when it rains and has loads of frog and mosquitos in it. I think the landlord said it was 4 cubic meters in size.

Don't think I'm looking to maintain a proper pond, so would rather do something else with it, so im thinking:

a. Cover it over, put some decking on it and use as a patio/put plants on
b. Fill it up and make a big planter/sunken garden thing.

If I was to a, what's the best way to make it water proof?  I was thinking to cover it with some tarpaulin, make sure the sides are airtight, then I can get some decking made to sit over it.

If I was to go with b, can I just fill the entire hole with soil and stick plants in there?  Can that be done without first removing the concrete walls, or is that needed other wise there is no drainage from watering the plants?

c. Any other ideas (which doesnt include removing the concrete walls, as im only renting)

Punch a few hole in the bottom when no one is looking and back-fill it with soil and grow vegetables.

If it holds water then its absolutely no use as a planting area unless you want to grow rice.....which is a restricted profession here.

Just decking over it will still allow it to fill up, and when your new shera deck fails you could find yourself in the soup.

Dont ever let the wife know its there, it may give her ideas !

If your gut tells you that you really dont want it then smash out the bottom and fill it in.

If you like the pond idea but its the wrong shape and depth, try to create a shallower one with a liner or even a grp preformed one.

I actually like the skateboard idea...

as said by others, Throw a few guppies in there a couple of lotus plants (water pants), and if you like a water fountain, (you can get one at your local nursery not expensive) and you can have a nice, relaxing  water feature.

I am away from mine for about five months now (back in the US working) wife just came back to Thailand to take care of some business, I was very surprised when she told me that the goldfish and guppies are still alive, even with out a filter. In fact the guppies had babies and there are a lot more of them now.
