Thailand’s national police chief admitted today that it was difficult for the police to track down the real masterminds behind the recent bombings and arson attacks in Bangkok and neighboring Nonthaburi province, even though the police have arrested two suspects.

Speaking at a news conference today at the Royal Thai Police HQ, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda said 80-90 percent of bombing incidents in Thailand are politically motivated.

The motives for the recent incidents, he admitted, are difficult to determine because the attacks were prepared meticulously. Two suspects, 22-year old Lu-ai Sae-ngae and 29-year old Wildon Maha, were arrested in Chumpon province as they were travelling in a passenger van to Narathiwat province from Bangkok.

Far too many suspects that have a grudge against the present govt to make a guess and they didn't catch anyone in the act. Leaving only real police detection work which they have never shown themselves to be good at.

Maybe there weren't any real masterminds, and what there are really saying is they haven't got anything under control and the public should be scare stiff because the telling of lies does nothing to actually solve the problems they are facing.

Don't they have 12 suspects and everything was sorted? Now it's back to 2 suspects.

I should imagine that those two suspects are being well and truly "sorted".

The other 10 didnt keep up to date with their TM30s so immigration cant find them.

The "difficulties"  stems from the fact that they don't know what they are doing.

You might be onto something there !!

Just got back from shopping at Macro Yasothon where they were checking under each vehicle for bombs,so maybe the bombings were carried out by disgruntled Macro shoppers.

I'd have thought that our "Leader" General P. had absolutely no idea what to do, whom to contact and neither did he react to it in a timely manner.

It seems that he's more concerned about his shirts he's wearing than what's happening in the country.

When will you step back and tell everybody that you know nothing about politics?

They could have made it to Sisaket by now and sell Rotris.

Well I had better get down to Macro Yasothon and alert the boys checking the vehicles to get down to Sisaket and if they could send back a couple of fresh roties cause I love Roties!

I thought angry ant Apirat Komsongpong, Commander in Chief of the RTA, had the case all wrapped up when he made the outburst that it was those same people who had done the 2006 bombings. But then he must have remembered they didn't ever catch them either.

He cant catch them until the correct epaulet is sewn on????

Its very odd the two in custody have not confessed everything in the usual confessing fashion ????

I don't think the Uyghur being held for the bombing of the Erawan Shrine confessed either.

The police just collected the $84,000 reward and then shut the case down.

I don’t understand the urge by senior officials here to hold press conferences telling everyone how badly they are doing their  jobs. It adds nothing to public confidence and does not aid the investigation.

Media trained agencies in the West use these opportunities to demonstrate progress, release some information, reassure the public and appeal to them for help.

Here it’s just grandstanding and vinyl posters demonstrating unprofessionalism.
